‘Tis the Season for Love and Sarah Lancaster (Advance Review & Sneak Peek)
The Hallmark Channel kicks off its Countdown to Christmas with Sarah Lancaster starring in ‘Tis the Season for Love. Props to writer Nina Weinman, director Terry Ingram, and the entire staff for a well-written, well directed and well acted first Christmas movie of the season. It’s always a treat to see Sarah Lancaster on our TV screens, having become huge fans of hers since NBC’s “Chuck”. In this movie, Sarah discovers the key to greatness was never far away and “comes in all shapes and sizes.”
Synopsis
During the Christmas season, a struggling New York actress returns to the small hometown she once left behind to follow her dreams of performing on Broadway. Feeling that she’s failed everyone’s expectations, she hides the reality of her difficult life from her former high school friends, until she finds herself opening up to a very special old acquaintance. When they start to fall for each other, she must decide if chasing her dreams in the big city can really compare to the unexpected happiness and love she’s found right at home.
“‘Tis the Season for Love” is a sweet, holiday romance that is filled with the warmth of family, friends and holiday memories that you just never want to let go of. There’s a whole lot of heart in the film and it was pleasant to see the lead character so filled with optimism at a time when her dreams seem to be shattered, and the life she had hoped to build for herself never really got off the ground.
Sarah Lancaster plays Beth with Brendan Penny, Gwynyth Walsh, Andrew Francis, Jessica Harmon, Garry Chalk and Anna Van Hooft rounding out the cast list.
“‘Tis the Season for Love” premieres Sunday, November 1 (8pm ET/PT, 7C).
