Weekly Update
WOMEN OF THE WEEK
It’s time again for the Nice Girls to get together and pick our Women of the Week.
Most Crazy Courageous
Emily Wickersham from NCIS
Character Name: Ellie Bishop
Nominated by Rueben: While working undercover as a married Marine (married to McGee), Ellie took a big risk sneaking into the home of suspected murderers (a married couple they had under surveillance). She was intent on finding the proof they needed only to be caught by the husband, who killed his real wife (whose body Ellie found in a sealed box inside the home). She fought for her life against a man twice her size and took him down with a pair of scissors.
Charity Wakefield from The Player
Character Name: Cassandra King
What she did: That crazy leap off the building with Alex, holding onto him by the waist as they hung off a very tall building all the while she was shooting at a helicopter that was firing on them. Good grief, what a stunt!! She’s got balls of steel.
Heartbreaking Heroine
Clare Bowen from Nashville
Character Name: Scarlett
Nominated by Lisa: This week Scarlett was faced with the tough decision of taking her mother off of life support. Clare Bowen gave an emotional & heartbreaking performance. She is definitely the Woman of the week for me!
All Around Amazing
Francesca Eastwood from Heroes Reborn
Character Name: Molly Walker
Nominated by Liz: What a performance from her last week and then again this week! She had to bring the physical and emotional acting chops to the front and she was amazing.
Fem Foil
Natalie Morales from The Grinder
Character Name: Clare
Nominated by Louise: It’s simple really – for just being a foil to The Grinder.
Traversing the Teen Years
Hayley Orrantia from The Goldbergs
Character Name: Erica
Nominated by Melissa: This week she perfectly played that tricky time when you’re turning into an adult but part of you still clings to your childhood. When she showed Adam her Strawberry Shortcake doll and explained that it was time for him “to put away childish things,” then later we see that she still keeps the doll close, I could totally relate. Well played.
Most Convincing Character
Lady Gaga from American Horror Story: Hotel
Character Name: The Countess
Nominated by Leah: Lady Gaga became The Countess so much so that I forgot I was watching Lady Gaga. For someone with such a huge personality, to convincingly become someone else – kudos.
