KILLJOYS 1.09 – ‘Come the Rain’ Nuclear Weather & Cosmic Truth Jenga

John has recovered but the scars remain. D’avin and Dutch are both out dealing with their own pain, each in his own way, and little brother is having none of it! John sends his two partners out on a warrant just ahead of the incoming black rain.

The easy job for the duo turns into a difficult one when John holds them both hostage with a clever game requiring brutal honesty. And, in their truth talk we gain insight into Dutch and D’avin. The pair decides to settle their differences Dance-Off style moving on to knives when all else fails. The whole experience was ended abruptly when Lucy gets drawn into the storm.

It seems the severe chemical storm rolling in caused the Westerly Authorities go all out in the form of a public execution!  The whole crowd takes cover in the bar along with Alvis and a handful of criminals. All was well until gunfire breaks out leaving John and the Doc to pick up the pieces.

Patter is preoccupied and John soon finds out why. Withdrawals! Her situation requires John and Alvis to venture out for some Jakk. Patter perks up pretty quickly once she gets her fix, but freaks out anyway. John once again comes to the rescue and talks her through it and even manages to kill his attackers in the process.

In the end D’avin plans to leave the team which only proves to piss John off even further. Thankfully John and Dutch seem to get back to their old selves. Maybe there is hope for the trio to kiss and make up.

• “My biggest fear is that I will never be good enough?” So say we all!
• I’ve gained a new appreciation for Alvis.
