Welcome to the STITCHERS Program! New ABC Family Summer Show Begins June 2nd
ABC Family offers up a new drama for your summer viewing pleasure and it’s a bit of a departure from what we’re used to seeing from the evolving network. “Stitchers” is a procedural which follows Kirsten Clark (Emma Ishta) who is recruited by a secret government organization headed up by Maggie Baptiste (played by Salli Richardson-Whitfield, who was also a ‘Maggie’ on Syfy’s “Eureka”), called The Stitchers Program.
The Stitchers Program plugs Kirsten’s brain into that of a recently deceased “sample” to access his or her most recent memories up to their death. In this way they are able to find out pertinent information to the case of the week. What makes Kirsten the perfect choice for stitching is that she has a medical condition which leaves her unable to feel emotions or judge time. She is also highly intelligent and technologically savvy, and she has no friends or family.
Keeping watch over Kirsten as she gets into the “fish tank” to be stitched are Cameron (Kyle Harris, “The Carrie Diaries”) and Linus (Ritesh Rajan). Her roomie, Camille (Allison Scagliotti from “Warehouse 13”), is also part of the program and she watches over Kirsten outside of the fish tank. To help with field work is Detective Fisher (Damon Dayoub). It’s a great cast and I like them all together.
“Stitchers” will follow “Pretty Little Liars” when it returns on June 2nd (9/8c) and it will be interesting to see if the PLL fans will follow into the show. I’m not so sure, but I can say that “Stitchers” is well worth a shot. It’s fun and interesting and there are a lot of scenarios they can get into, given time. It’s got my attention!
Welcome to the Stitchers program!
