Are SHIELD Agents Mockingbird and Hunter Headed to New Spinoff Series?

It’s been rumored that Marvel has another spinoff series in the works but nothing has been confirmed yet. Is this something that will take the place of Agent Carter, meaning that awesome series will not be returning? Whatever it is, and if it gets off the ground, the new show will star Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood as Mockingbird and Lance Hunter. This kind of feels like a little spoiler to the season finale of S.H.I.E.L.D.

According to this, “the plot of the series will become clear after the end of “S.H.I.E.L.D.’s” second season.” Along with this news, there are whispers that another series might be cooking which will feature the “reinvention of an existing superhero character”.

I’m hoping for this Mockingbird/Hunter series to take off, because I really love the Mockingbird character. She’s got a lot of layers and I’d like them to be explored some more. That really can’t be done in a show like S.H.I.E.L.D. with its ensemble cast.

So how do you feel about more Marvel superheroes filling up our programming? Too much of a good thing or completely over the moon about your dreams finally coming true?
