Introducing: The Royals

By  |

The new scripted drama The Royals will debut on E! on March 15 at 10 PM.

The series focuses on the lives of a fictional modern-day monarchy in England, who must struggle with both common and atypical family dramas while in the public eye.

The series stars Elizabeth Hurley (Gossip Girl) as Queen Helena, the steadfast Queen of England who has traditional values regarding the throne which are increasingly at odd’s with the King’s modern intentions; Vincent Regan (Atlantis) as King Simon, who carries the weight of the British Empire on his shoulders while torn between his love of family and his obligations as the ruling Monarch; William Moseley (The Chronicles of Narnia franchise) as Prince Liam, twin brother to Princess Eleanor, who is a bit of a “player”; Alexandra Park (Home and Away) as Princess Eleanor, the party girl who doesn’t care about her salacious, scandalous behavior and Merritt Patterson (Ravenswood) as Ophelia, Liam’s American lover, who is also the daughter of the Head of the Royal security detail.

Also to be featured in the show will be Joan Collins (Dynasty) as the Grand Duchess of Oxford, Helena’s mother; Oliver Milburn (the British original Mistresses) as Ted, Ophelia’s father whose wife was shot and killed while Ted was protecting the King; Jake Maskall (EastEnders), as Prince Cyrus, the King’s younger brother, who is scheming, power hungry and bitter; Lydia Rose Bewley (The Inbetweeners movies) and newcomer Hatty Preston as Princess Penelope and Princess Maribel (respectively), the spoiled yet unsophisticated daughter of Prince Cyrus; Sophie Colquhoun (the British comedy Plebs) as Gemma, Liam’s socialite ex-girlfriend, who will stop at nothing to get him back; Ukweli Roach (Grantchester) as Marcus, Liam’s bodyguard and confidante; Tom Austen (also from Grantchester) as Jasper, Eleanor’s new bodyguard and newcomer Manpreet Bachu as Ashok, Prince Liam’s goofy and sweet friend.

The Royals will debut on March 15 at 10 PM on E!
