HART OF DIXIE: “61 Candles” {Recap}

As only Zoe and Lemon can do after so many years as occasional enemies, they fight over the last diaper genie at Frank’s. Zoe rightly uses her pregnancy to get it rather than driving to Mobile to get something else. After the baby shower, Tom and Wanda have plenty of questions about the baby, leading to Wade holding a baby for the first time. The town also decides to help out the two of them as they struggle to adjust with the baby. Poor Lemon has barn duty, but it does give her the chance to tell Lavon that she loves him and for them to have a great moment. After people ruin Tom’s reputation with all of his jobs, he runs around and tries to do them all without sleep before he crashes into Le Mobile Spa. But they both run to see if the other is okay after the crash and have a quasi-truce in their tete-a-tete.

Lavon and Lemon spend the night together, but it makes Zoe a little uncomfortable. It does reinforce how much Zoe and Lemon don’t always get along, especially when Zoe’s pregnant and everyone bends over backwards for her. For the sake of Lavon’s relationships with both Zoe and Lemon, the ladies both have to figure out a way to make it work. Over a spa day, they try to find a balance to their relationships with Lavon, but it doesn’t go well at all. Zoe wants to have her time with Lavon stay the same because he’s the closest thing to family she has in town, and only when she says it does Lemon do something: finding a duck that Harley gave to Lemon as a child so that Zoe has one gift from Harley to her son, a duck Harley made Lemon.

George and AB are looking adorable and very much in love. Too bad when AB is trying to be sexy, his parents walk in on them. George can’t admit to his parents that he’s managing two bands rather than being a successful lawyer. The woman from the record label leaves with the promise of a record deal for Meatball just as George’s parents walk in. AB is doing a great job of selling George’s parents about the idea of being a music manager and it turns out that his parents came to visit to tell George that his dad isn’t working anymore and that his dad envies George’s work.

However, not everything in Bluebell is good. It seems that everyone in Brick’s family has forgotten his birthday. Too bad when Lavon wants to take out Brick fishing to tell Brick about he and Lemon, Brick mistakes it for a birthday celebration. The town does rally to the rescue and gets something organized for his birthday.
