HART OF DIXIE: “Alabama Boys” {Recap}

At the twenty-four week ultrasound, Zoe and Wade find out that they’re having a boy, even though Zoe thought they’d have a girl. All the boys in Zoe’s life seem to be very happy about another boy in town, even if it makes Zoe nervous. Without going to George, Lavon or Wade, Zoe spends a day trying to understand Alabama Boys – from fishing, taxidermy and anything in between. When a baseball player comes in with an injury, Zoe jumps at the chance to learn more about Alabama boys, but it turns out that the player is a girl, who tells Zoe all about the evils of boys. The girl’s mother is Alice, Brick’s ex-wife (played by Meredith Monroe). She comes back to see Zoe and hands over her card so that Brick can do with it what he wants.

Awkward conversations between AB, George and Lavon. Because nothing in Bluebell can ever be simple. But it’s even more awkward when Filmore’s First Lady invites AB to her birthday party – and suggests she bring a date. Crickett is with AB when it all happens and Crickett figures out that there’s maybe someone in AB’s life. As soon as George asks AB out, however, she says no. Crickett thinks that trying to date George is a bad idea for AB, whereas Tansy thinks that AB and George are a disaster waiting to happen. When George suggsts that Lavon be AB’s date and they see Lemon at the Rammer Jammer, Lemon freaks out a bit, but both Lemon and George are bothered by what the two of them look like together. Mrs Gainey thinks that Lavon is AB’s boyfriend, which is just going to upset George when he sees AB and Lavon holding hands. Eventually the mayors agree to the co-hosting, even if they both hate each other under normal circumstances. AB realizes that she does want to go on a date with George and Lemon and Lavon should be together.

The town’s attempts to get the high school football championship is not going well, unless they agree to co-host with Filmore. Lavon doesn’t like the idea, but for the whole town, he’ll do it. George has to go with Lavon to Filmore for the co-hosting, but when they get there, Scooter won’t allow them in. Dash tells Lavon and George that AB has that invitation to that birthday party and now one of them will try to be her date to find out if they can work together.
