PLAYING HOUSE: Jammers Be Like “We’re Getting a Second Season!”
USA Network just announce today that fan favorite comedy series, Playing House, has been picked up for an 8-episode second season. Fans have been flooding USA’s Twitter and Facebook with calls for the return of the show starring its creators, Jessica St. Clair and Lennon Parham. USA heard and answered with a special new way to watch the show as an added bonus.
According to the press release, USA will be introducing a new way for viewers to watch the show. This new structure “will allow viewers each week to watch the following week’s episode on Video-On-Demand before it airs on USA.” The goal for this new structure is “designed to offer select advertisers premium placement across millions of multiplatform connected homes, and engage the highly passionate community of PLAYING HOUSE fans across VOD and TV Everywhere platforms.”
Now, while I’m ecstatic about the show coming back, what’s the point in watching it live when it’s all going to be spoiled by the people who have already seen the episode via VOD? Am I not understanding something here? I thoroughly enjoyed tweeting while watching the episode live, but now I’ll be seeing people who will tweet what’s going to happen next because they already know! You know there are those people out there.
So, the good news is that Playing House is coming back in 2015. The bad news is that if you don’t ever want an episode to be spoiled, stay off of social media, which kind of defeats the purpose of this new structure, am I right?
