SIGNED SEALED DELIVERED FOR CHRISTMAS Brings the Holidays to a Family in Need
The series Signed Sealed Delivered debuted on the Hallmark Channel back in April, introducing viewers to the members of the Dead Letter Office: Oliver O’Toole (Eric Mabius from Ugly Betty), Shane McInerney (Kristin Booth from The Kennedys mini-series), Rita Haywith (Crystal Lowe from Smallville) and Norman Dorman (Geoff Gustafson from Primeval: New World), who act as postal detectives working to deliver packages and letters from the past when they are needed most.
Rather than moving forward with a second season after the show’s finale in June, Signed Sealed Delivered will be moving to Hallmark Movies & Mysteries as a series of movies, starting with their holiday special that will debut this weekend.
This time around the Postables – Oliver, Shane, Rita and Norman – are working around the clock to deliver every last letter before Christmas in Signed Sealed Delivered for Christmas. When a letter comes in that isn’t for Santa but addressed “To God”, the postal detectives have quite a challenge before them. Using each of their unique skills, the team tracks down the writer of the letter: 8-year old Hannah Casey (Ava Telek), whose mother is in the hospital due to severe complications from her pregnancy.
In her letter, Hannah asks God to help her mother get better so she can see her as a shepherd in the Christmas pageant in her hometown. But since they are in the big city at the Denver Mercy Hospital, it looks like Hannah’s wish may not come true. That’s where the Postables come in. They arrange to hold a special Christmas pageant at the hospital just for Hannah and with some guidance from a mysterious post office volunteer named Jordan Marley (Rob Estes from Melrose Place and Silk Stalkings) and Oliver’s former Sunday School teacher Marion (Marion Ross from Happy Days), they just might be able to pull it off.
I won’t spoil what happens in this touching holiday movie that would soften even the Grinch’s heart, but each storyline within Signed Sealed Delivered for Christmas ties into each other, bringing Shane’s and Hannah’s childhoods and Oliver’s childhood and adulthood full circle.
For the dog lovers out, watch out for the adorable service dog at the hospital. He is a real treat! And, keep a close eye on what happens with the cherished necklace that Shane wears and the truth behind Jordan.
Signed Sealed Delivered for Christmas will debut on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries on Sunday, November 23 at 9/8c.
