PERSON OF INTEREST: Jim Caviezel and Greg Plageman talk season 4 at Comic Con {Video}

The Person of Interest cast took a break from filming season 4 to travel cross country to San Diego for Comic Con and I caught up with them in the press room where we got a bit of insight into what to expect from season 4.

Everyone came around in pairs, so we talked with Jim Caviezel (John Reese) and producer Greg Plageman together. We also spoke with Amy Aker (Root) and Sarah Shahi (Shaw) as well as Michael Emerson (Harold Finch) and Kevin Chapman (Lionel Fusco).

In a bit of a role reversal compared to my experiences with them two years ago in the press room, Caviezel was in a talking mood and Plageman basically let him run with it. Here are the highlights:

  • The characters have lost all their resources and are forced into new identities that may not suit them very well. They have to lay low as they can’t risk drawing the attention of Samaritan, which is going to be a problem for Shaw and Reese as they don’t do idle well.
  • There will be some sort of new lair to replace the beloved library
  • The numbers do come again, but they can’t go after them like they used to- they need to concentrate on surviving, then how will they communicate? They may have to let some go.
  • The new season will be about a war between two machines and Samaritan is going to be ruthless
  • In an analogy perfect for Comic Con, Caviezel suggested that it’s going like a group of split up Jedi warriors and the Empire is going to strike back.

Here’s the whole video. My apologizes for the background noise – those rooms get loud!

Person of Interest returns on Tuesday, Sept 23 at 10/9c on CBS.
