CATCH A CHRISTMAS STAR: How Love Can Connect Two Different Worlds

Catch A Christmas Star is the Hallmark Channel’s latest holiday movie that premiere’s tonight. It stars Shannon Elizabeth and Steve Byers with support from two of the cutest kids ever, Julia Lalonde and Kyle Breitkopf.

Nikki is a singer/songwriter who’s star is on the down swing after a whirlwind takeoff. She rose to fame fresh out of high school, left her home and friends and embarked on a life that, as it turns out, can get quite lonely.

Chris is a widower with two small children, Sophie and Jackson, who’s basketball career dies with a career-ending injury. Now a teacher and basketball coach, the holidays bring back memories of better times with his deceased wife.

When Sophie discovers that her dad and her favorite pop singer were once sweethearts, she makes plans to reunite them, hoping for happiness for her dad this Christmas. Sophie has the heart of a romantic and it was sweet to watch her push Chris into a simple dinner date with Nikki.

As the movie rolls on we are pulled into the manipulative world of big record label gluttony. It was wonderful to watch Nikki defy her label by not playing by their rules and wishes. Instead, she follows her heart to win back the love of her life, no matter what.

Catch A Christmas Star is a delight for fans of original holiday movies, heartwarming moments and love. It’s part of Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas programming.
