By  |

As reported by the folks at Yahoo TV this morning, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Interactive Media Peer Group “announced the juried winners for (the) Creative Arts Emmys in the field of digital media programming”.

Among those winners was none other than the online web series The Lizzie Bennet Diaries, which won for Original Interactive Program.

The Lizzie Bennet Diaries debuted on YouTube in April of last year as a modern retelling of the classic tale from Jane Austen’s 1813 novel “Pride and Prejudice” this time with a 24-year-old grad student – Lizzie Bennet – with “an uncertain future” and “a mountain of debt” who – with the help of her friend Charlotte Lu, starts a YouTube channel where she shares stories about events in her life, imitating off-screen characters with “costume theater”.
