Week In Review: Five Moments Worth a Second Mention

A few TV moments stick with me every week so I’ve compiled them below. Did I miss anything? Is there a moment you can’t stop thinking about? Hit the comments and let us know.

The Vampire Diaries:
Don’t get me wrong, I like Bonnie, I really do but Prom Queen? Caroline – sure – but Bonnie? I’m just not seeing the school voting for her. Seems a little witchy to me.  On a side note, how beautiful did Caroline look and how sweet was her moment with Tyler?

Suburgatory:
Maybe I shouldn’t be advocating fighting but I was shocked and a little surprised by the intensity of the throw-down between Dalia and Tessa on this week’s Suburgatory. I would have figured Tessa had it in her being a hardened city girl but I never should have underestimated the anger Dalia hides behind that monotone voice.

The Jimmy Kimmel Show:
No one channels barely controlled fury quite like Harrison Ford. While a guest on Kimmel’s show he stated that he didn’t want to talk about Star Wars. That is until Chewbacca stands up in the audience.
It was one of the better rehearsed stunts I’ve seen on a late night show. Harrison and Chewy exchanged some barbs I am not sure are acceptable to reprint here. It comes down to name calling and accusations of relations with Ford’s wife. Like I said, no one plays controlled fury like Mr. Ford.

Parks & Recreations:
Parks & Recreation guest Patton Oswalt makes the cut with his hilarious 8 minute adlibbed Star Wars filibuster. If you like Star Wars or any comic book movie you are going to like this “rant”.

The Colbert Report:
It was a sad week for Boston and somehow Stephen Colbert was able to find a little bit of levity mixed with the appropriate amount of humor in a monologue he did as a tribute to Boston.
“After all, the city was founded by the pilgrims — a people so tough they had to buckle their goddamn hats on…”
The attackers picked an “event celebrating people who run 26 miles on their day off until their nipples are raw for fun.”
“Here’s what I know, these maniacs may have tried to make life bad for the people of Boston, but all they can ever do is show just how good those people are.”
