Getting To Know THE REAL ST. NICK in New Lifetime Movie

By  |

In the new Lifetime holiday movie The Real St. Nick, Torrey DeVitto (best known for her roles in The Vampire Diaries and Pretty Little Liars) stars as Kate, a psychiatrist at St. John’s Hospital, who is about to question her own sanity.

After an early morning run through a local park, Kate stops to take a phone call from the Director of the hospital, the overly conceited and far-too-body-conscious Spaulding Tyler (Matthew Felker) [who has the hots for Kate, by the way]. Moments into the call, a boulder rolls down the hillside above Kate and seconds before the large stone wipes Kate out, a handsome young man, oddly enough dressed as Santa Claus, pushes her out of the way; but is hit on the head by the boulder.

Santa Claus – aka Nick (Callard Harris from Dallas and Glory Daze) – sustains a better bad knock to the head; and as he accompanies Kate back to the hospital, while looking for his lost sleigh which he claims was on a test run for the big day, Kate is convinced the accident has caused his delusion; but Nick really seems to believe he is jolly St. Nick.

Kate admits Nick as a patient in the psych ward, but it soon becomes apparent that he is having quite a good effect on the patients, which includes Jack (Kenneth Choi), who really thinks he is Jack Nicholson; Roberto (Aaron Landon), who is autistic and Isabel (Alix Elizabeth Gitter) who has all kinds of problems (namely she cannot be touched without going into panic attacks) and, to boot, she is Kate’s sister (which they have been keeping secret for years) as well as the staff, which includes nurse Tanya (Roma Maffia) and Eddie (Mark Adair-Rios). He also has a way with the children who are stuck in the hospital during the holidays.

Despite the fact that hospital director Tyler is a bit of a Grinch, Nick and the psych patients roam the hospital, tracking down all the holiday decorations and setting about to make Christmas extra special for staff and patients alike.

During his few days’ stay at the hospital, Nick also begins to form a special bond with Kate; and after taking a sneak peek inside his big red Santa bag, Kate figures out a clue to Nick’s real identity. Will what she discovers about him confirm his belief that he is the real St. Nick or will it actually uncover something much more unsettling? Can Kate and Nick form a relationship beyond doctor-patient?

Make sure to tune into Lifetime for The Real St. Nick on Saturday, December 15 at 10 PM and find out the truth.
