666 PARK AVENUE: From the Comic Con Panel

What would you do to have everything you desire?

666 PARK AVENUE - cast

It’s difficult to gauge the audience after watching the full pilot of the new ABC thriller series 666 Park Avenue. It almost felt like they didn’t know how to react. I of course loved it, even more since this was my third viewing. It has all the elements that draw me to a new show.

Terry O’Quinn (Lost) and Vanessa Williams (Ugly Betty, Desperate Housewives) were the hot draws on this panel. They play Gavin and Olivia Duran, the owners of the historic Drake apartment building. Joining them were Rachael Taylor and Dave Annable, who play Jane Van Veen and Henry Martin, new tenants of the Drake and Jane is hired on as the building manager by Gavin.

The official short synopsis for 666 reads: Step inside 666 Park Avenue, New York’s most seductive address. We all have some burning needs, desires and ambitions. For the residents of The Drake, the premier apartment building on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, these will all be met – for a price – courtesy of the building’s mysterious owner, Gavin Doran (Terry O’Quinn). But be careful what you wish for, because the price you have to pay is your soul.

When asked if Gavin Duran really is the devil, Terry O’Quinn couldn’t say. “He could be the devil, or working for the devil, or just really evil. Or Olivia could be the devil,” he quipped, looking at Vanessa Williams. Not much was said about the show, it’s still young enough and not much has yet been filmed so of course, they’d like to keep things quiet and let the viewers enjoy the experience.

There was no time for questions from the audience, however since tomorrow is Terry O’Quinn’s birthday, we all sand “Happy Birthday” to him. Not bad for a first timer at Comic Con!

666 Park Avenue premieres on Sunday, Sept. 30th at 10/9c, on ABC. Watch for our review coming soon.
