ALPHAS Recap: Gaslight

By  |

We start in a morgue and guest star Noah Reid is looking at the dead body of his sister. As he is walking away he hears his name, the lights start to flicker and he sees his sister start to move. She reaches out for him begging Adam for his help. Looks like Adam is an Alpha, he climbs the walls/ceiling to get to his sister, but as quickly as it started the lights stop flickering and Maggie, his sister is still dead.

Rosen is in his office late at night; he hears a door and sees Nina. Rosen invited Nina so they could ease her back into the group and therapy. His approach to her therapy this time is a little different. He wants to talk to her about Stanton Parrish. Stanton is an ends justify the means kinda guy and that scares Dr. Rosen. He explains to Nina how Gary was able to connect the Parish family fortune (which is huge) to a charity, The Llamrei Foundation. He also makes large contributions to New York Senator Burton.
He wants Nina to push the Senator to find out what she knows about Stanton Parish. Nina looks concerned/worried but she says okay.

Rachel is helping Gary get his tie straight. They are both dressed very nice. Gary however doesn’t want to wear a tie.
Gary: I don’t like the tie, it’s like a noose. Nooses kill people.

They are going to Anna’s Tombstone unveiling. Gary doesn’t think he will get catharsis from this. Nina comes in. Nina says Gary looks great. Gary says Nina is a criminal but she isn’t in jail. Rachel who isn’t speaking to Nina says she should be in jail but apparently Dr. Rosen doesn’t think so. Gary says she is back on the team but Rachel says she isn’t a part of her team.
Nina apologizes but Rachel cuts her off. She isn’t interested.

Kat shows up at the office with her pillow and backpack. Hick’s quips that they are running a bed and breakfast now but Dr. Rosen just wants to do a sleep study on Kat.
Bill, Hicks and Rosen leave to investigate the morgue incident from earlier while Nina goes to push the Senator. The Senator is played by Lauren Holly. Nina pushes the Senator to find out what she did for the Llamrei Foundation but the Senator says she can’t tell her, “It’s gone.” So Stanton did something to her memory.

Rosen is talking to Adam about his dead sister and what he saw. Rosen wants to send Adam to a clinic to get him some help dealing with his grief. Hicks and Bill are going to transfer Adam to the clinic. Adam is in the elevator when it stops. He can hear his sister calling for him. She needs him, so he takes down the orderly and escapes out the elevator shaft uses his Alpha ability.

Gary and Rachel are at Anna’s Tombstone Unveiling. Gary starts his loud truth telling and then Rachel’s phone rings causing more embarrassment before they can leave. They show up at the hospital to help Bill and Hicks find Adam who is still missing.

Hicks, Bill and Rachel go up a few floors to where Rachel thinks Adam is. The lights are flickering on and off and it is deserted. Rachel can hear voices but she can’t pinpoint the sound. Bill says lately the hospital has been having problems, equipment malfunctioning, people seeing things out of the corner their eye.
(This is when my daughter says she would be out of there the moment that stuff started happening and I have to agree.)

Gary is downstairs looking through video feed when he sees Anna. She is not only standing in front of him she says, “Hello.”
Gary says she can’t really be there, she is dead and she can’t talk. Gary checks with someone to see if they can see Anna, they cannot. He says he doesn’t see hallucinations. Anna fades out and comes back together. Gary wants to know if she is haunting him.

Nina and Rosen are talking. Nina says it felt like The Senator knew but couldn’t find the memory and Rosen says it is probably in The Senators mind. Maybe Nina can pull it out of her. Something opposite of the push. Rosen says he thinks she can do this but only if she is comfortable. Nina says they can try.
Nina looks uneasy and even though Rosen says he doesn’t want to do anything Nina isn’t comfortable with he seems to be using her. Could be just me but his need to get ahead of Stanton Parish seems to be bordering obsessive.

They get to Rosen’s office to find Kat asleep on the couch. They are going to try to pull a memory from Kat first to see if Nina can make this work.
Nina sits with Kat while Rosen has her connected to a brain scanning machine.
Kat takes a hold of Nina’s hand, which is sweet and says she isn’t scared it just felt right.
(I hope Nina finds a friend in Kat, I think she could use one.)

Nina is going to try to pull the memory of Kat’s 16th bday. She is using her push voice to ask Kat questions. Kat is actually starting to remember things. Nina has a moment where her hand clenches and she gets very quiet. She tells Dr. Rosen she is fine. He says okay and they head to the airport to get to The Senator before she gets on a plane.

At the hospital Gary and “Anna” are walking around. She keeps appearing and fading and appearing other places. Gary is talking to her. Gary says she is getting stronger the higher up they go, like her signal strength is improving. She even reaches out and touches Gary’s hand for a moment, he actually feels it.

Rachel and Bill are in a room where Rachel says she can hear Adam’s heart racing. Suddenly Bill isn’t there, the lights are flickering and Adam pounces on Rachel from the ceiling.

Bill and Hicks enter the room where Rachel was attacked. She isn’t answering her phone. Hicks says Bill was supposed to stay with her. Bill says Hicks was supposed to be her.

Nina and Rosen are at the airport. Nina is pushing her way past the ticket counter. Rosen has a moment, thank goodness, and makes sure Nina is really okay with all of this. If she isn’t she can just say so. She says she wants to help.

Gary is telling Anna about how he sleeps at the office. Bill calls Gary to ping Rachel’s phone but he says he is in the middle of something. Gary hangs up on Bill and Bill hears Rachel, she is asking for help.

Nina is pushing/pulling The Senator. She starts to get some information but they are interrupted because her flight needs to board. She tells Nina and Rosen she helped a man in a gray suit with some medical testing. Then she says August. Nina wants to know if August means anything to Rosen and he says they will figure it out.

Bill and Hicks are still looking for Rachel. They now have their guns out which to me seems a little not so smart…
Hicks hears his son calling for help. He sees two medical attendants pushing a gurney with a dead body on it, only the body is yelling to Hicks for help, it’s Hicks son. He chases after them.

Adam has Rachel. He keeps calling her Maggie, and he sees is Maggie sitting there. He has her strapped down. He is going to drain the blood from her to get the drugs out of her system. She is able to free herself and run away. Adam chases after her.
Adam follows the sound of Maggie’s voice to a big sink of water, Maggie keeps saying she is drowning and Adam sees her in the water of the sink. He leans down towards her and “Maggie’s” hands come out of the water and pull his head under.

Bill is still looking around when Gary shows up. He is telling Bill he saw Anna. Bill says they need to get out of there. Gary did a ping on Rachel’s phone though and she is upstairs.
Hicks is right behind the gurney he thinks has his son on it. He sees orderlies put his sons kicking body into one of the drawers in the morgue.
Bill finds Rachel’s phone but no Rachel. Then he sees Adam’s lifeless body half in the sink.

Gary is still walking around with Anna. Gary sees things moving on their own…He says he found a signal it’s her signal. It’s infer-sound.

Bill, Gary and Rosen meet up in a hallway. Bill is really concerned because whatever this is it is really affecting Hicks and Rachel. Rosen says infer-sound is a sonic frequency below normal human hearing.
Gary says it is affecting everyone but him. It is just letting him see Anna. He is helping Anna find the source of the infer-sound.

Rachel follows the voice asking for help to the pool where she sees Nina at the bottom of the pool drowning. She jumps in to save her.

Hicks meanwhile is on a table being cut open while still very much alive and Bill is still looking for Rachel, when he sees himself. He starts kicks up his adrenaline and has a little throw down with himself.

The Nina in the pool starts to pull Rachel down under the water, drowning her.

Gary finds a patient who was brought in for drowning but has been in a coma this whole time, he is 16 and his parents are here to take him off life support and donate his organs.
Rosen thinks he can save the boy. He leaves Gary, who is still seeing Anna. He tells Anna she isn’t real, but he likes seeing her. He says he is going to find the patient before Rosen can.
Gary locks himself in the room with the patient and he won’t let Rosen in. Rosen says the rest of the team is in serious trouble and if he can wake up the patient it will save them. Gary says he knows he isn’t thinking clearly but he lost Anna once. He couldn’t save her and he doesn’t want to lose her now.

Rosen says Gary should ask Anna what he should do. Anna tells Gary to save the patient. He is an Alpha too.
Rosen wakes up the patient in time for Hicks to stop cutting himself and Bill to stop beating himself up, but Rachel is floating in the pool face down. Bill gets to her and does chest compressions to bring her back.

Rosen is talking to the patient he woke up. He doesn’t seem to remember anything. As Dr. Rosen is about to go he sees a nurse holding a Photic Stimulator up to another patients face who is in a coma. A Photic Stimulator seems to be a rectangular devise that flashes light at a patient. It tests for brain waves.
Dr. Rosen asks how long they have been using it and the nurse says they have been using it on all of their comatose patients for the last 6 months. Rosen looks at the devise more closely and it reads, “August Medical”.

At the office Nina sees Rachel and asks if she is okay. Rachel cuts her off that she is fine and then walks away. Rachel stops, turns around and says thanks for asking.

Kat is in Dr. Rosen’s office learning to draw. She is watching a video and drawing a woman, the woman is from her retrieved memory.

Dr. Rosen has a Photic Stimulator in his office. He is trying to figure out what it does. Gary comes in and tells Rosen the Photic Stimulators were given to 2700 hospitals across the country.
Rosen wants to know if Gary still has the phone Skylar gave him. Rosen wants Gary to contact Skylar to see if she can figure out how this Photic Stimulator works. Gary says it was made in China so maybe Skylar speaks Chinese like Anna.
Gary tells Rosen he figured out another way to talk to Anna, Rosen is too preoccupied to really realize or care what Gary has said.
In his office/bedroom Gary sees a tweet or sends out a tweet from @Anna_Lives. It says, “The revolution is coming. #Anna_Lives #Alphas”
He smiles and the screen goes dark.
