NICE BOY OF THE WEEK: Kris Holden-Ried
This week’s Nice Boy is actor Kris Holden-Ried, who stars alongside Anna Silk and Ksenia Solo, as Dyson on the popular sci-fi series Lost Girl, which is a hit not only in its home country of Canada but also here in America.
Kris was born in Scarborough, Ontario and raised in a farm town, northeast of Toronto. He knew he wanted to be an actor at an early age; but acting wasn’t actually a career of his choice in his family so he attended college, studying international commerce. Being a strong athlete, Kris became a member of the Canadian National Pentathlon Team, a skill that would pay off in his acting later on.
Prior to his work on Lost Girl, Kris appeared in the Canadian TV shows Degrassi: The Next Generation, M.V.P., Murdoch Mysteries, The Bridge, Republic of Doyle and The Listener. He also turned heads in the cable series The Tudors.
Earlier this year, he appeared alongside Kate Beckinsale and Michael Ealy (Common Law) in the box-office film Underworld: Awakening. He also had a role in the classic Harrison Ford film K-19: The Widowmaker (who, in his role of Han Solo in the Star Wars franchise was the inspiration for Kris to become an actor) and his first big break came via the made-for-TV movie Young Ivanhoe, which starred Stacy Keach and Margot Kidder.
Kris enjoys traveling and loves being out-of-doors. Some of his interests are sailing, scuba diving, surfing and yoga. And, he has an interest in someday working behind the camera not just in front of it. He and his son live in Toronto.

Lost Girl was airing on Mondays night on Syfy at 10/9c but moved to Friday nights at 10/9c as of July 20.
