UNTOUCHABLE – Delve Into the Mind of Disgraced Cop Drew Peterson

By  |

The fact based film Drew Peterson: Untouchable will debut on Lifetime on Saturday, January 21 at 8 PM, starring Rob Lowe as the Chicago area police officer who fell from grace after the mysterious disappearance of his fourth wife.

In an almost unrecognizable role except for his voice, Rob Lowe appears as Drew Peterson, a charming police officer, who seemed virtually “untouchable” in more ways than one. The film chronicles the sordid details of Peterson’s womanizing ways via flashbacks as well as simulated interviews interspersed with actual news footage of not only the death of Peterson’s third wife but also the disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy Cales (played by Kaley Cuoco), who was half his age.

The movie opens with Peterson (Lowe) being interviewed about Stacy’s disappearance and then flashbacks to his life with third wife, Kathleen Savio (played by Cara Buono), for whom he had two sons and his first meeting with Stacy. This meeting then leads to an affair between Peterson and Stacy, which brings about a bitter divorce between Peterson and Kathleen.

The story delves into the death of Peterson’s third wife as well as the early days of Peterson and Stacy’s marriage, the birth of their two children, Stacy’s bonding with caring neighbor Karen (played by Catherine Dent) and the eventually disintegration of their marriage and her disappearance.

Throughout the story it is shown that Peterson’s jealousy and controlling ways put a strain on both his third and fourth marriages – and more so on the latter. But then Stacy disappears, leaving her children behind and Peterson claiming she left him for another man. New questions soon arise regarding his third wife’s death, which starts to look as if it were murder, as well as national media attention being drawn into the strange disappearance of Stacy.

All the while Peterson claims innocence in his third wife’s death and the disappearance of Stacy, and even gets engaged – for a short time – to another, much younger woman while the search is still on for Stacy.

The film also stars William Mapother, Romy Rosemont, Danielle Savre, Dameon Clarke, Jonathan Scarfe and Teddy Sears.

Tune in to Drew Peterson: Untouchable on January 21 at 8 PM on Lifetime to learn all the sordid details of this bizarre case.
