LEVERAGE: The Last Dam Job

By  |

Okay folks, here we are, the Leverage finale. I’ve already gotten through the Golden Globes and a few glasses of wine with dinner, so I expect this to be more than a little entertaining.

If I were a member of the Leverage team this week, I wouldn’t really like the job at hand. Trying to take down your first mark is never a good plan, even when you manage to get all of your enemies to join you (anytime I can see Chaos (Wil Wheaton) being a pain in Hardison’s ass, it is a good day.)

It really comes down to this, Dubenich wants to take down our team anyway he can, which means trying to screw over everyone in their regular roles. Leaving Dubenich (Saul Rubinek) and Latimer (Leon Rippy) with more than a few issues at the end, I can only imagine. If the team has to rely on enemies, I’m really going to watch the con play out well.

What that involves, though, is about four cons in one episode. Hardison being low-tech and contaminating the dam before Chaos can actually use his skills to work into the security system. Then we have Archie (Parker’s old teacher, played by the great Richard Chamberlain) who steals just as well as she does in a large party. That helps when Parker can only get so much done from inside a cake before trying to run into Latimer’s safe.

As this con also brings Nate’s ex-wife, Jenny (Kari Matchett), back into the fold, I really have to say that Dubenich is just going to get whatever he has coming to him (especially since it seems killing Jimmy Ford isn’t a good way to win over Nate Ford.)

Even as Nate sets up Dubenich and Latimer against each other with a gun, with five bullets, it’s the team who has the time that they need to just take over everything that Latimer and Dubenich wanted before leaving them alone and not in jail. I think being left with the knowledge that you were bested by the Leverage team and you can’t say anything about it is worse than being in jail for being caught by the team.

Well, that’s it for Leverge this season. I can’t wait to see where we find the team next, and just how evil our bad guys can be.
