Nice Boys

Nice Boy of the Week: Arthur Darvill

By  |

We’re going to go sci-fi with our Nice Boy this week, and I can think of no one better than The Doctor’s sidekick, Arthur Darvill. Arthur plays Rory on the popular series, Doctor Who, now in its sixth series after a relaunch in 2005.

Arthur began his career at the very young age of 10, as he joined the Stage2 Youth Theatre Company. He stayed there until 2001 when he started his own theater company, Fuego’s Men. Arthur trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, then made his first stage appearance playing ‘Harrison’ in Terre Haute,  for which he won critical acclaim and a nomination for Best Newcomer at the Evening Standard Theatrical Awards.

Arthur first worked with Matt Smith (Doctor Who) when he appeared in the Vaudeville Theater’s production of Swimming with Sharks. He joined the cast of Doctor Who in 2010.

Arthur is also a proficient musician. He plays the keyboard and guitar, and in fact started an indie band called “Edmund” in while in his teens. He also enjoys cooking, which in itself won him a spot on our Nice Boys list. Gotta love a man who can cook!
