The Monthly TV Calendar for July

Here is what you can look forward to seeing on the major and cable channels throughout July, including all the new shows that are debuting, the returning summer shows that are coming back and the new made-for-TV movies:

July 3 – Join PBS for the airing of the final movie Poirot XI at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: David Suchet returns as suave Belgian super-sleuth Hercule Poirot in a brand new mystery based on the novels by Agatha Christie. This is the third of three planned movies.

July 8 – The 4th season of Torchwood: Miracle Day will now be seen on Starz and will debut at 10 PM

July 10 – The movie Agatha Christie’s Miss Marple, Series V will debut on PBS at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Julia McKenzie (Cranford) stars as the beloved spinster sleuth Miss Marple in a new episode based on the Agatha Christie novels.

July 11 – The Closer and Rizzoli & Isles are back on TNT on July 11 at 9 and 10 PM (respectively)

July 11 – Eureka and Warehouse 13 will air at 8 and 9 PM with the new series Alphas debuting at 10 PM on Syfy

Show Synopsis: The show follows a team of ordinary citizens with extraordinary mental and physical abilities. Taking the law into their own hands, the unlikely team, led by Dr. Leigh Rosen (Emmy Award-winner and Oscar nominee David Strathairn) investigates cases that suggest other Alpha activity to uncover what the CIA, FBI and Pentagon have not been able, or willing, to solve. These gifted individuals must balance their quirky personalities and disparate backgrounds with their not always visible powers as they work to solve crimes, stop the ticking time bomb and catch the enemy. Alphas also stars Malik Yoba, Warren Christie, Laura Mennell, Ryan Cartwright and Azita Ghanizada.

July 13 – Rescue Me will be back for its final 9-episode season on FX at 10 PM

July 13 – Damages returns for an all-new 4th season now airing on DirecTV at 10 PM

July 15 – The Syfy series Haven returns for its second season at 10 PM

July 16 – Super Eruption is the new Syfy movie that debut at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: A scientist and a park ranger (Juliet Aubrey and Richard Burgi) try to stop the eruption of a massive volcano under Yellowstone Park.

July 16 – The Hallmark Channel movie Keeping Up with the Randalls will debut at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Budding designer Alicia Crosby (Kayla Ewell from The Vampire Diaries) must earn the approval of a new family and she must do so under the pressures of their annual extravaganza called the “Randall Reunion Races”. The film co-stars Roma Downey (Touched by an Angel), Marion Ross (Happy Days) and Thad Luckinbill (The Young and the Restless)

July 17 – Zen is the new three-part movie by PBS that debut tonight at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: What does an honest cop do when his bosses are on the side of the lawbreakers? Outwitting prosecutors, politicians, mobsters and run-of-the-mill kidnappers are killers, Detective Aurelio Zen brings justice to modern-day Italy, whether the authorities want it or not. Two more movies will air on July 24 and 31.

July 17 – Breaking Bad will be back with all-new episodes on AMC starting tonight at 10 PM

July 17 – The ABC Family Channel movie Cyberbully will debut at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: The film follows Taylor Hillridge (Emily Osment from Hannah Montana), a teenage girl who falls victim to online bullying, and the cost it nearly takes on her and her family. Kelly Rowan (The OC) stars as Taylor’s mother and Kay Panabaker (No Ordinary Family) as Taylor’s best friend.

July 18 – The movie Magic Beyond Words: The J.K. Rowling Story will premiere on Lifetime at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Poppy Montgomery (Without a Trace) stars as the author in her early days as a struggling single mother as she brings to live the beloved wizard – Harry Potter – which makes her one of the world’s wealthiest and most prolific writers.

July 30 – The Hallmark Movie Channel movie The Cabin will debut at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Lea Thompson (Switched at Birth) and Steven Brand (Covert Affairs) star in a movie that looks at what was supposed to be a vacation of culture, adventure and ancestral bonding that becomes the Clash of the Macs, when two divorced strangers with nothing in common but their last name, battle as they are forced to share the same cabin with their kids in Scotland.

July 30 – The Syfy movie Age of Dragons will debut at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Danny Glover stars in a re-imagining of Herman Melville’s classic novel Moby Dick, set in a mythical realm where Captain Ahab and crew hunt dragons for the vitriol that powers their world.

July 31 – The new Lifetime series Against the Wall will debut at 10 PM

Show Synopsis: Rachael Carpani (The Glades), Treat Williams (Everwood) and Kathy Baker (Picket Fences) star in this new drama where loyalties are put to the test when Chicago police detective Abby Kowalski (Carpani) causes a rift within her close knit, blue collar family of cops when she decides to join the department’s Internal Affairs division. The cast includes Steve Byers and Marisa Ramirez.
