Today’s Women Behind the Scenes spotlight is shone on writer, executive producer and series creator Constance M. Burge.

Constance started out in the world of television in 1996 as the series creator for the WB soap opera Savannah that starred Robyn Lively, Jamie Luner and Shannon Sturges and a then-unknown George Eads (CSI). The show lasted for 34 episodes – and technically ran for two seasons. She was also one of the writers and subsequently held the title of co-executive producer.

Two years later, she created what went on to become one of the longest running shows in the history of the then WB network: Charmed

She was the executive producer and one of the principal writers on the show for the first two seasons, remaining with show as a consulting producer until season 4, which was in 2002.

In 2001, she worked as a writer and consulting producer on the popular FOX drama Ally McBeal before moving on to the FOX drama Boston Public, for a short time, as consulting producer and writer. That same year she held the same titles over on the NBC cult-favorite series Ed.

She then landed a job as writer and consulting producer for one season of the CBS drama Judging Amy. It was around this time (2004 and 2005) that she worked as an associate producer for two TV projects. The first was the series called CMT Got Me in with the Band and the TV special Garden Giants: Still Growing. She was also a line producer on the TV documentary Sugar Rush in 2005.

It was three years later that she became a writer and co-executive producer on the USA Network drama In Plain Sight and then she held the same positions on the short-lived USA Network series The Starter Wife, which starred Debra Messing (Will & Grace).

In 2009 she worked as a writer and consulting producer on the popular Syfy series Eureka and was the line producer on the TV series Cool Hands. The following year, she worked on the TV project Cool Tools: The Hardware Show.

For the last two years she has been working as a writer and consulting producer on another popular USA Network series Royal Pains.
