Danny Flaherty previews his guest-starring role on LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT

In an exclusive interview with NiceGirlsTV, Danny Flaherty talked about what it was like guest-starring in an upcoming episode of Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

In the episode entitled “Rispetto,” Danny portrays Taylor, the son of a notorious “rock star” fashion designer Nyle Brite, played by Jay Mohr, who parties hard and when one of his guests ended up dead, the spotlight is turned on Nyle’s outrageous lifestyle and the affect it has had on his son.

In fact, Danny described his character Taylor as being “depressed about his father’s actions.” Danny explained, “[Taylor] loves his mother very much and wants to protect her from his father.” Taylor is the loving, but conflicted son. With a father who is fashion’s golden-boy by day, but who had a dark side reserved for his family, Taylor is torn on his role and how to be the good son. Luckily Danny’s experience was much more fun that the heavy storyline would suggest, and for him, the entire experience was fantastic.

Danny said that he felt fortunate to get the opportunity to audition for the role and is thankful for the chance to work with such great actors as Jay Mohr and Vincent D’Onofrio. He shared that one of the challenges was “keeping [his] cool around such inspirational people.” Therefore, just being on set was a learning experience and one that he is grateful for which to have been a part.

Danny also described his co-star Jay Mohr as “hilarious.” He said, “[Jay] is also very nice. It was so exciting having the opportunity to work with such a great actor.”

While Danny’s favorite part of the whole experience was just being on the set and seeing how it was all put together – from script to screen – he also loved the cool sets. He said, “Filming in the police station was definitely my favorite part. The set was so cool.”

As for what the future holds, Danny is optimistic and said, “I’m super excited for anything that comes my way. I don’t know what will come in the future, but I can’t wait to see what happens.” His dream role would to one day get the chance to play Kurt Cobain in a film – particularly because music is such a huge part of his life. He even laughingly admitted, “I’m always walking around with my headphones blasting. I love acting so much and when I get the opportunity to do both music and action – it’s the most amazing combination.”

Finally, when asked what one word best describes him, Danny said, “Amazed — I’m new to the acting world and everything is still so surprising and exciting for me.” For such a humble and appreciative young actor, the world certainly holds lots of promise.
