Today’s Women Behind the Scenes spotlight is shone on Executive Producer, Writer and Producer Rina Mimoun.

Rina got her start in 1998 as a writer on the short-lived TV series Guys Like Us as well as a writer on the popular WB series Dawson’s Creek. She then moved on to be a writer for the WB series Jack & Jill, moving up to Executive Story Editor for that series from 1999 through 2001. It was in 2001 that she acted as co-producer on Dawson’s Creek.

A big change in Rina’s career came in the form of the cult favorite WB series Everwood where she worked as a writer over the show’s four year history (2002 to 2006), moving up to Supervising Producer in 2003 and 2004 and eventually becoming the Executive Producer of the show from 2004 through 2006.

When Everwood came to a close, Rina moved over to the other WB cult favorite series Gilmore Girls, working as a writer and consulting producer in 2006 and 2007. In 2007, she was not only the Executive Producer and writer for the TV movie Reinventing the Wheelers but also one of the writers and a co-executive producer on the short-lived ABC series Pushing Daisies.

The following year she brought the world of Zoey Dean’s novel “How To Teach Filthy Rich Girls” to life in the form of the short-lived CW series Privileged, acting as Executive Producer, Writer and Showrunner. But, the fates were not kind to this new show, seeing it end after only one season, putting Rina on the path of working as a writer and consulting producer on the short-lived 2009 ABC series Eastwick.

Right now, Rina has a pilot commitment at CBS for a medical drama, which centers on a mother who reconnects with her adult children when she joins the family medical practice. It is too early to tell if the network will pick up this new series, but Rina certainly has an impressive resume to allow her to go almost anywhere.
