Celebrate the Holidays with Eureka and Warehouse 13

By  |

The holidays are coming a little early for sci-fi fans, especially for fans of the popular Syfy series Eureka and Warehouse 13. Both series are airing special holiday themed episodes tonight (December 7) at 9 and 10 PM respectively.

But before getting into what to expect on both of these special episodes, let’s briefly take a trip back to Comic Con when the cast of both shows made appearances at the annual fete. Eureka cast members Colin Ferguson, Salli Richardson-Whitfield and James Callis as well as Warehouse 13 cast members Joanne Kelly, Saul Rubinek, Allison Scagliotti, CCH Pounder and Eddie McClintock took the time to briefly sit down with NiceGirlsTV to talk about their upcoming seasons, sharing highlights from the new summer episodes.

First up was Colin Ferguson who talked about how when Eureka first started he thought it was a dark show, but as the show developed it obviously become more of a comedy (especially in the eyes of the network) and he spoke about the dynamic between his character and James Callis’ character Dr. Grant; which fans obviously saw play out over the summer. Salli Richardson-Whitfield chimed in her excitement over becoming a first-time director on the show by doing a lot of prep work to be ready for that opportunity and that she felt the time travel storyline was the “most brilliant thing to happen” on the show. The brief chat ended with James Callis speaking about the film noir quality used in the episode where his character is introduced and how his character brings a different perspective to the show.

Meanwhile, the Warehouse 13 cast members all agreed that the show has a connection with the audience because their characters are like a family and the relationships they have with each other are very real and, of course, very funny. They also agreed that the heart of the show is the dynamic that the entire team has with each other. And, CCH Pounder remarked that Mrs. Frederic will continue to be a mystery, but the layers will be peeled back slowly. Also, Allison Scagliotti spoke about the merging of Eureka and Warehouse 13 for their crossover episodes, stating it was a great experience and was an easy transition between the two.

Now, let’s travel back to the present with what to look forward to on tonight’s holiday episodes.

In Eureka, the employees at Global Dynamics are getting ready to celebrate the season at the company holiday party; but one of the party goers – Dr. Noah Drummer (guest star Chris Parnell) nearly runs off with a volatile experiment. Unfortunately – or more to the point – in true Eureka fashion – Dr. Drummer’s unstable hydrogen crystal starts to grown at a frightening rate, causing Jack (Colin Ferguson) and Henry (Joe Morton) to attempt to deal with the potentially explosive crystal. But soon enough the true scope of the problem is revealed and it’s going to be another interesting day in Eureka before all is said and done. Look for former series regular Matt Frewer to return as Taggert.

Over at Warehouse 13, as the team prepares to celebrate the holidays in snowy South Dakota, Pete (Eddie McClintock) and Myka (Joanne Kelly) are called upon to hunt down a malevolent Santa Claus, who is terrorizing a harried workaholic (portrayed by guest star Paul Blackthorne). Meanwhile, Artie (Saul Rubinek) is reunited with his estranged father, Isadore Weisfelt (special guest star Judd Hirsch) after 30 years.

Celebrate the holidays with Eureka and Warehouse 13 on Syfy tonight at 9 and 10 PM.
