They Deserve Their Own Show (Final Installment)

The time has come: It is time to end this long-running “They Deserve Their Own Show” article series. As I mentioned last week, this series of articles has been ongoing for over a year and a half now, covering 420 actors and actresses who are under-appreciated, deserving of more attention or perhaps even their own show. These final six are among that deserving group:

Gloria Votsis

Gloria Votsis – Gloria is best known for her recurring role on White Collar and her numerous appearances in this past summer’s ABC series The Gates, she got her start in an episode of Sex and the City following that up with guest starring roles in Guiding Light, Jake in Progress, NCIS, Six Degrees, Dirt, Cupid and CSI: NY. She appeared in the movies The Education of Charlie Banks with Jason Ritter from The Event and 20 Things To Do Before You’re 30 with Misha Collins from Supernatural.

Kathleen Wilhoite

Kathleen Wilhoite – Kathleen has a long resume dating back to her first TV appearance, which was in an episode of Family Ties. She also appeared in The Jeffersons, Fame, Murphy’s Law and Cagney & Lacey. She also guest starred in Twin Peaks, Quantum Leap, Mad About You, Ally McBeal, Touched By an Angel, 24, Third Watch, Boomtown, Judging Amy, Will & Grace, Charmed, The 4400 and Boston Legal. She had small recurring roles in L.A. Law, ER and Gilmore Girls. Her movie roles include Road House with the late Patrick Swayze, Crossing Delancey with Amy Irving and Pay It Forward with Helen Hunt and Kevin Spacey. She has also appeared in the Hallmark Hall of Fame movie My Sister’s Keeper with Kathy Bates and Elizabeth Perkins and the Hallmark Channel movie Ice Dreams. Most recently she has had appearances in The Mentalist, In Plain Sight, Without A Trace, Criminal Minds, Ghost Whisperer and The Cleaner.

Gwendoline Yeo

Gwendoline Yeo – Gwendoline made her first TV appearance in two episodes of Grounded For Life, but then became the voice of Lady Deathstrike in the several X-Men animated video games. She also lent her voice to What’s New Scooby Doo and Final Fantasy X-2. She then made guest appearances in episodes of The O.C., Judging Amy, NYPDB Blue, JAG, 24 and Hannah Montana. She was in several episodes of General Hospital as well as Desperate Housewives. She appeared in the mini-series Broken Trail and, once again, lent her voice to animation in Avatar: The Last Airbender, Kim Possible and The Batman. She was seen in episodes Chuck, The Mentalist and Eli Stone. She was also seen in the box office movie The Jane Austen Book Club and has done more voice work in animation for Wolverine and the X-Men, Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Gods of War III.

Marcus Giamatti

Marcus Giamatti – Not only is Marcus the brother of film star Paul Giamatti, he is an accomplished actor himself, being best known for his role in Judging Amy. But, he got his start in soaps such as Guiding Light and Another World then he appeared in episodes of Quantum Leap, Cosby, The X-Files and Homicide: Life on the Streets before landing the role on Judging Amy. Since that time he has been seen in Criminal Minds, Tell Me You Love Me, Crossing Jordan, Cold Case, Life, Monk, The Mentalist, House and Medium. Most recently he has guest starred in episodes of CSI, NCIS and Lie To Me. He has one upcoming project called The Chosen One.

John Reardon

John Reardon – John got his start in TV by appearing in the Chris Isaak Show and The Twilight Zone. He then moved on to roles in the made-for-TV movie 1st to Die with Tracy Pollan and Gil Bellows, guest spots in Andromeda, Edgemont and Tru Calling. He appeared in The L-Word, the made-for-TV movies Merlin’s Apprentice and Blue Smoke and the box office movie Scary Movie 4. He had a recurring role in the short-lived TV series Painkiller Jane and was most recently seen in an episode of Eureka.

Peter Wingfield

Peter Wingfield – Peter has a long resume, dating back to guest appearances in the UK shows Soldier Soldier and Medics. He later appeared in the American shows Viper, The Sentinel and Highlander. He was one of the leads in the short-lived series Queen of Swords and guest starred in First Wave, Stargate SG-1, Dead Zone, Andromeda, John Doe, Kingdom Hospital and Touching Evil. He had a small role in the movies X-Men 2 and Catwoman. He appeared in episodes of Charmed, Smallville, Medium, Men in Trees, Sanctuary and 24. More recently he has been seen in Caprica, Human Target and NCIS: Los Angeles. He also recently starred in the made-for-TV movies Riverworld and Stonehenge Apocalypse.
