Chuck
The fans demanded a fourth season, and it was so! Season 3 ended with Chuck and Sarah together, Casey reuniting with his long lost daughter, Morgan being integrated into Team Bartowski, and Ellie discovering Chuck’s secret. But it also ended with the death of Papa Bartowski and the big reveal that he’d been conducting his own investigation of government ops for years, possibly decades. Upon his death, he turned over all of his intel (and a cool secret lair) to Chuck, who is now tasked with finding his mother, guest star Linda Hamilton. Family is the name of the game this season, with the Awesomes making an announcement of their own and Casey’s daughter becoming more a part of his life. Chuck returns September 20 at 8/7c on NBC. – Melissa
Lone Star
Lone Star stars James Wolk as Bob Allen, a charming con-artist trained by his father to pull off the scam of a lifetime: he married a billionaire’s daughter, Cat Thatcher (Adrianne Palicki) to infiltrate the family business and simultaneously set up a scam conning the simple town folk in Midland, Texas to buy into a non-existent oil well business where he lives with his girlfriend, Lindsay (Eloise Mumford). Living two separate lives, working two separate cons and juggling two incredible women, Bob has his hands full. Co-starring are Jon Voight as Cat’s father Clint Thatcher; David Keith as Bob’s father, John Allen — the man who has orchestrated the massive dual con — Bryce Johnson as Cat’s younger brother, Drew Thatcher, and Mark Deklin as Trammell Thatcher, the older brother. The two identities and lives of Bob Allen begin to show stress-fractures when he desperately scrambles to hold the elaborate double-con together. Watch and discover for yourself the incredible story of a man living in maze of deceit. “Lone Star” premieres September 20th and airs Monday nights at 9/8c on Fox. – Tiffany
The Event
Touted as a grand adventure, The Event delves into government intrigue and a possible conspiracy that is bigger than even the President of the United States. Interlaced with this is a gritty family dilemma that unfolds when a young woman goes missing during a cruise with her boyfriend. What these two divergent storylines have to do with each will hopefully be played out over the course of the TV season, giving answers as needed and playing heavily on what if scenarios.
The cast of this lavish series includes Jason Ritter, Blair Underwood, Laura Innes, Zeljko Ivanek, Sarah Roemer, Scott Patterson, Clifton Collins, Jr., Ian Anthony Dale, Bill Smitrovich, Taylor Cole and Lisa Vidal. The Event debuts Monday, September 20 at 9/8c on NBC. – Rueben
Hawaii Five-0
CBS brings back a revamped version of the 1968 series that made the phrase “book ‘em, Danno” popular. Alex O’Loughlin stars as Steve McGarrett, a decorated Naval officer-turned-cop, who comes to Oahu to look into his father’s murder, and ends up staying to head up the new “team”. Detective Danny Williams (Scott Caan) is the ex-New Jersey cop, is on board to keep the island safe for his little girl. Daniel Dae Kim (Chin Ho Kelly) and Grace Parks (Kono Kalakaua) round out the cast. Hawaii Five-O premieres Sept. 20 at 10/9 central, on CBS. – Bethanne
Chase
Jerry Bruckheimer is at it again, premiering a new show on NBC that’s eerily reminiscent of In Plain Sight (on the NBC Universal-owned USA Network). The series follows a team of U.S. Marshals headed by Annie Frost (Kelli Giddish from the short-lived series Past Life) who hunts down America’s most dangerous fugitives. Using her sharp mind and unique Texas upbringing Frost, along with her team, track down criminals on the run and the viewer is along for a cat and mouse thrill ride.
Cole Hauser, Amaury Nolasco, Jesse Metcalfe, and Rose Rollins. The Chase premieres Monday, September 20 at 10/9c on NBC. – Rueben
Castle
Returning for its third season, the ABC drama series Castle is poised to reclaim viewers’ hearts all over again – especially after the heart-lurching moment when Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) suddenly decided to spend the summer with his ex-wife, just as Detective Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) was about to accept his invitation to spend the summer together. Based on the premise of a mystery writer shadowing a modern day police detective as a source of inspiration for his books, “Castle” invites viewers into the dark world of crime, but with a nice dose of comedy on the side. Aiding in their crime-fighting adventures are fellow detectives Javier Esposito (Jon Huertas) and Kevin Ryan (Seamus Dever), medical examiner Dr. Lanie Parish (Tamala Jones), Captain Montgomery (Ruben Santiago-Hudson), and on the home front there are Castle’s mother, Martha Rodgers (Susan Sullivan), and Castle’s daughter, Alexis (Molly Quinn). To find out what mysteries lie ahead for Castle, Beckett and their friends, be sure to tune in for its third season premiere on Monday, September 20. Castle airs Monday nights at 10/9c on ABC. – Tiffany
