Friday Spoilers: Psych, The Vampire Diaries
We’ve gone back and forth on the idea of a regular spoiler column here at Nice Girls HQ, but in the end, we’re all eager for snippets of info on our favorite shows and figured our readers would be, too. So, we’re going to give it a whirl. We haven’t landed on which day to make this a regular feature, but we suspect other Nice Girls would like to have something juicy to finish off the week with, so we’re going to try out Fridays for now. And now for our inaugural post, featuring scoop on Psych and The Vampire Diaries.
Psych airs its summer season finale on USA Network next week, a “Run Lola Run” themed episode featuring Franke Potente as Nadia, a spy who needs their help to clear her name. Um, awesome? Lost‘s Nestor Carbonell is back, too, as Declan aka Shawn 2.0.
When the show returns for its winter season, we’ll have another returning guest star when Cary Elwes reprises his role as Pierre Despereaux, the elusive art thief Shawn & Gus were up against in the season 4 premiere. This time Despereaux has been set up for a crime he didn’t commit, but when Shawn & (a very reluctant) Gus set out to prove his innocence, they get in way over their heads. (I realize that last part isn’t exactly a spoiler when it comes to these two.) Also, we get a Remington Steele reference, which makes everything better IMO.
On the Shawn & Juliet front, Shawn appears to be moving toward maturity, even saying out loud that love is worth the risk.
The Vampire Diaries, last season’s breakout hit for the CW, launches season 2 next Thursday, and we know you have questions after that cliffhanger of a season finale. Other sources have already leaked that a human we’ve met previously is turned into a vampire and speculation runs rampant. We’re not going to spoil that one, though. *cue groans of disappointment*
Caroline gets some competition when a new character, Aimee (Tiya Sircar), starts making eyes at Matt. It doesn’t sound like Tyler will be too amused that she’s not responding to his flirtations, either, but with a full moon on the horizon, Aimee ought to be the least of his concerns.
Alaric gets his own flirtatious femme when Vanessa (Courtney Ford), a grad student in Isobel’s department at Duke, assists him with Isobel’s research. Too bad for her, Alaric “isn’t exactly single”. Who is he referring to, Isobel or Jenna? Meanwhile, a folklorist herself, Vanessa is surprised to find that those “myths” she worked so hard to debunk aren’t so inaccurate after all.
What do you think, are we on the right track with spoilers? Is there a show you’d like us to track down some intel on? Let us know in the comments!
