The Summer TV Calendar
Summertime has virtually arrived and the television landscape is full of new and returning shows as well as made-for-TV movies on the major networks and cable channels. While keeping track of these events could be close to impossible, we here at NiceGirlsTV are bringing our readers an updated version of the TV calendar to help with all your viewing options. Please keep in mind these dates and times could change so please watch your local listings for alterations.
JUNE
June 2 – Happy Town will begin airing its final 5 remaining episodes on ABC at 10 PM
June 3 – Burn Notice and Royal Pains will both be back tonight on the USA Network at 9 and 10 PM respectively
NOTE: A marathon of Burn Notice‘s season 3 episodes will air, beginning at 6 AM leading up to the season premiere at 9 PM
June 3 – The Vampire Diaries will air reruns of its first season on the CW at 8 PM while the now-defunct CBS series Moonlight will get a chance to rerun its episodes at 9 PM (as summer filler only)
June 4, June 11 and June 18– Past Life will air more unaired episodes each night on FOX at 8 PM
June 4 – Flashpoint will return with new episodes on CBS at 9 PM
June 4 – The 5 remaining unaired episodes of Miami Medical will start to air on CBS at 10 PM
June 5 – The Hallmark Channel movie Freshman Father will premiere at 9 PM
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: John Patton (Drew Seeley from High School Musical) and Kathy Blair (Britt Irvin from Smallville) are the perfect small-town couple, but when Kathy becomes pregnant before their freshman year in college, everything changes. The cast includes Annie Potts (Designing Women) and Kim Zimmer (Guiding Light).
June 6 – Drop Dead Diva will return to Lifetime for its second season at 9 PM
June 7 – New episodes of Lie To Me will air at 8 PM with The Good Guys moving to its regular timeslot at 9 PM both on FOX
June 7 – Nurse Jackie will have its season finale on Showtime at 10 PM
June 7 – United States of Tara will have its season finale on Showtime at 10:30 PM
June 7 – The Secret Life of the American Teenager will be back with new episodes on the ABC Family Channel at 8 PM
June 7 – The new mini-series Persons Unknown will debut on NBC at 10 PM
Show Synopsis: This Mexican-produced series was picked up for a 13-episode run by NBC and follows a group of people who awaken in a deserted town with no memory of how they got there, and cannot leave. They are watched by security cameras, and are occasionally fed information via remote-controlled televisions. No matter what they try, their attempts to escape the town are thwarted by mysterious forces. The series stars newcomer Daisy Betts, Jason Wiles (Third Watch), Sean O’Bryan (Yes Man and Six Feet Under), Alan Ruck (Spin City) and Chadwick Boseman (Lincoln Heights). James Read (Charmed) and Kandyse McClure (Battlestar Galactica) are set to guest star.
June 8 – Glee will air its season finale on FOX at 9 PM
June 8 – The new ABC Family Channel series Pretty Little Liars will debut at 8 PM
Show Synopsis: The series follows four estranged best friends who are reunited one year after their best friend and queen bee of the group, Alison, goes missing – only to discover they’re receiving messages from an anonymous “A” who knows all their secrets. The series stars Lucy Hale (Privileged) Ashley Benson (Eastwick), Laura Leighton (Melrose Place), Bianca Lawson (The Vampire Diaries and Buffy), Troian Bellisario and Ian Harding.
June 11 – The season finale of Stargate Universe will air on Syfy at 9 PM
June 12 – The Syfy movie Stonehenge Apocalypse will air at 9 PM
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: When the giant stones of Stonehenge begin to move and cataclysms occur all over the Earth, only a fringe radio talk show host who’s an expert in UFOlogy figures out the ancient monument is really alien technology. The movie stars Hill Harper (CSI: NY), Misha Collins (Supernatural) and Torri Higginson (Stargate Atlantis).
June 13 – The Tudors will air its series finale on Showtime at 9 PM
June 13 – True Blood will be back with its third season on HBO at 9 PM
June 13 – The first live-action mystery series Unnatural History will debut on the Cartoon Network at 8 PM
Show Synopsis: The series follows Henry Griffin (Kevin G. Schmdit), a teenager who has acquired exceptional skills by traveling with his globetrotting anthropologist parents. He is sent off to live a normal live with his uncle, but learns his high school is located on the grounds of The National Museum Complex. Along with his cousin Jasper (Jordan Gavaris) and their friend Maggie (Italia Ricci) they attempt to uncover the mysteries of the museum.
June 16 –Glee will have encore airings starting tonight on FOX at 8 PM
June 19 – The Hallmark Channel movie Dad’s Home will debut at 9 PM
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Ben Westman (David James Elliott from JAG) is shocked when he loses his job as an advertising executive because he makes too much money. Now in the role of Mr. Mom, he makes a mess of everything, but soon gets the hang of things and even finds a supporter in his son’s teacher. However, when he’s offered a great job in another city, Ben must decide what matters most in life. The movies also stars Sharon Case (The Young and the Restless), Madison Davenport and Will Shadley.
June 20 – The 4-hour Syfy movie Phantom will debut at 7 PM
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Chris Moore’s life is suddenly turned upside down when he learns that he is not only adopted, but is also the son of the late Kit Walker – a capped crusader known as The Phantom. After his adoptive parents are viciously killed by his father’s arch nemesis, he has no choice but to accept his fate. The movie stars Ryan Carnes (Desperate Housewives) in the lead role with Sandrine Holt (24 and The L Word), and Isabella Rossellini co-starring.
June 20 – The new ABC series Scoundrels will premiere at 9 PM
Show Synopsis: Based on the New Zealand series Outrageous Fortune, Virginia Madsen stars as the matriarch of a family of crooks. She decides that they need to go straight after her husband (David James Elliot from JAG) is sentenced to a long prison term. The show also includes Patrick Flueger (The 4400), Leven Rambin (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) and Carlos Bernard (24).
June 20 – The new series The Gates will debut on ABC at 10 PM
Show Synopsis: Inside The Gates, a private mountain community can be found more than just perpetual suburban bliss and perfectly manicured homes protected by massive iron gates. There is a dark and delicious secret buried just beneath the surface. This supernatural crime drama includes cast members Marisol Nichols (24), Rhona Mitra (Boston Legal), Luke Mably (The Prince & Me) and Chandra West (John from Cincinnati).
June 20 – Leverage will be back on TNT with a two-hour season premiere at 9 PM
NOTE: The series will also have back-to-back episodes air the following week (June 27).

June 20 – The Lifetime Movie Network movie Double Wedding will air (check your local listings for airtime)
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: The film centers on twin sisters (Tamera and Tia Mowry) who discover they are dating the same man.
June 21 – Saving Grace ends its run on TNT with a two-hour series finale on TNT at 9 PM.
June 22 – The TNT medical drama HawthoRNe will be back for another season at 9 PM
June 22 – The new series Memphis Beat will debut on TNT at 10 PM.
Show Synopsis: This offbeat series stars Jason Lee as Dwight Hendricks, a Memphis police officer who lives with his mother. His intimate connection with the city and its people sets him apart from his fellow officers. Alfre Woodard plays his demanding boss, Robyn Lively (Saving Grace) as Dwight’s ex-wife and DJ Qualls (My Name Is Earl) as Dwight’s protégé (among others).
June 24 – The new series Rookie Blue (formerly called Copper) will debut on ABC at 9 PM
Show Synopsis: This Canadian drama about five rookie cops at work and at play has been picked up for a 13-episode run on the network. The series will include Eric Johnson (Smallville and Flash Gordon), Gregory Smith (Everwood) and Missy Peregrym (Reaper).
June 25 – The Disney Channel movie 16 Wishes will air 8 PM
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Debby Ryan (The Suite Life on Deck) as Abby Jensen, a teenager who can’t wait to grow up, and when she’s handed the chance to make all her wishes come true, she quickly learns the importance of being careful what you wish for. Jean-Luc Bilodeau (Kyle XY) co-stars.
June 26 – The made-for-TV movie You Lucky Dog will air on the Hallmark Channel at 9 PM
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: The movie is about a New York City fashion designer (Natasha Henstridge from Eli Stone) who returns to her family’s struggling farm, finding a new purpose in training a herding dog and discovering that the dog has the talent to turn an inhospitable cattle farm into profitable sheep country. Harry Hamlin co-stars.
June 28 – The new series Huge will premiere on the ABC Family Channel at 9 PM
Show Synopsis: The show will follow the lives of seven teens and the staff at a weight-loss camp (and based on the books by Sasha Paley). Among the cast is Nikki Blonsky (Hairspray).
June 28 – The ABC Family Channel series Make It or Break It will return at 10 PM
June 29 – Rescue Me is back on FX at 10 PM
JULY
July 2 – The season finale of Merlin will air on Syfy at 10 PM

Show Synopsis: The series, which is based on the novella The Colorado Kid by Stephen King, follows FBI agent Audrey Parker (Emily Rose (Jericho), who arrives in the small town of Haven, Maine to solve the murder of a local ex-con. Before long, her natural curiosity lands her in the epicenter of activity in this curious enclave, which turns out to be a longtime refuge for people with a remarkable range of supernatural abilities. The cast includes Lucas Bryant (Queer as Folk) and Eric Balfour (24).
July 10 – The Bridge will air on CBS at 8 PM
Show Synopsis: This is another Canadian drama about a tough and dedicated police officer who is voted to become the police union’s dynamic leader, which was picked up for an 11-episode order by CBS. The series will star Aaron Douglas (Battlestar Galactica), Ona Grauer (Stargate Universe) and Paul Popowich (Angela’s Eyes).

July 11 – The final two remaining, unaired episodes of the now defunct ABC series Eastwick will air back-to-back at 9 and 10 PM
July 11 – The new A&E drama The Glades will debut at 10 PM [premiere date changed from July 13 to July 11]
Show Synopsis: Jim Longworth (Matt Passmore, McLeod’s Dauthers) is a homicide detective from Chicago who after being wrongfully accused of sleeping with his former Captain’s wife is forced into exile. He relocates to the sleepy, middle of nowhere town of Palm Glade, Florida, where sunshine and golf are plentiful and crime is seemingly at a minimum; but that’s not necessarily the case. The cast also includes Kiele Sanchez (Lost) and Carlos Gomez (Sleeper Cell).
July 12 – The Closer will return for its sixth season on TNT at 9 PM
July 12 – The new show Rizzoli & Isles will debut on TNT at 10 PM
Show Synopsis: Angie Harmon (Law & Order) and Sasha Alexander (NCIS) star as crime-solving friends Jane Rizzoli, a Boston detective and Maura Isles, a medical examiner. The series is based on the Tess Gerritsen novels. The cast includes Lorraine Bracco (The Sopranos) as Jane’s mother, Lee Thompson Young (FlashForward), as Jane’s current partner, Bruce McGill (Law Abiding Citizen) as Jane’s seasoned former partner; Jordan Bridges (Dawson’s Creek) as Jane’s brother, a patrol cop who hopes to become a detective; and Billy Burke (The Twilight Saga) as FBI agent Gabriel Dean.
July 13 – White Collar will be back with new episodes on the USA Network at 9 PM
July 13- The new series Covert Affairs will debut with a 90-minute premiere on the USA Network at 10 PM
Show Synopsis: Anne Walker (Piper Perabo) is a young CIA trainee who is thrust into the inner sanctum of the agency when she is unexpectedly promoted to field operative. While it appears she has been plucked from obscurity for her exceptional linguistic skills, there may be something or someone from her past that her CIA bosses are really after. The show co-stars Christopher Gorham (Ugly Betty), Sendhil Ramamurthy (Heroes), Kari Matchett (Invasion) and Anne Dudek (House).
July 14 – Psych will be back with new episodes on the USA Network at 10 PM
July 16 – The NBCmovie The Jensen Project will air at 8 PM
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: The movie explores the secret community of world-class geniuses who do cutting-edge research that they share anonymously to help the world. Stars include Patricia Richardson (Home Improvement), LeVar Burton (Star Trek: The Next Generation), Kellie Martin (ER), and Brady Smith (CSI).
July 17 – The movie Goblin will debut on Syfy at 9 PM
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: A family vacations in a mountain town haunted by a goblin that steals babies. When their newborn disappears, it’s up to his older half-sister to rescue him. The movie stars Donnelly Rhodes (Battlestar Galactica) and Colin Cunningham (Stargate: SG-1)
July 17 – The Hallmark Channel will premiere the movie Jack’s Family Adventure at 9 PM
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Jonathan Silverman stars as a successful advertising executive who packs up his family – wife (Dedee Pfeiffer), daughter (Linsey Godfrey) and son (Nolan Gerard Funk), taking them to the cabin where he spent his youth in order to have a family bonding vacation in the wilderness. Peter Strauss co-stars.
NEWLY UPDATED:
July 18 – The ABC Family Channel two-hour movie Revenge of the Bridesmaids will air (check local listings for airtime)
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: When best friends Abigail (Raven-Symoné) and Parker (Joanna Garcia) return to their small, Southern hometown for a visit, they learn their close friend, Rachel, has lost the love of her life, Tony, to their ex-friend Caitlin – a conniving gold-digger. Intent upon preventing the loveless marriage, Parker and Abigail go “undercover” as Caitlin’s bridesmaids to sabotage the wedding. But their best laid plans go outrageously awry.
July 24 – The season premiere of Being Human will air on BBC America after the season finale of Doctor Who (check local listings for times)
July 25 – Mad Men returns to AMC for another season at 10 PM
July 31 – The Syfy movie Jack Hunter and the Lost Treasure of Ugarit will debut at 9 PM
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Jack Hunter, an adventurous fortune hunter, goes to Syria to find an ancient treasure buried thousands of years ago – which might be cursed. Stars Joanne Kelly (Warehouse 13). Ivan Sergei also stars.
AUGUST
August – The movie Lake Placid 3 will debut on Syfy (check local listings for date and airtime)
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: A game warden, his wife and their young son move into their aunt’s cabin on Lake Placid, where the lonely boy starts feeding baby crocodiles he views as pets; but three years later, the crocs start looking at him and his family as food. The movie stars Colin Ferguson (Eureka) and Yancy Butler (Witchblade).
August – The TV premiere of the movie Wild Child will air on the ABC Family Channel at 8 PM
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: The movie stars Emma Roberts as an LA diva who does what she wants, when she wants until an over-the-top prank finds her shipped off to a British boarding school. The movie co-stars the late Natasha Richardson and Aidan Quinn.
August – The Syfy movie Mandrake will debut (check local listings for airtime)
MOVIE SYNOPSIS: A group of adventurers searching for a Spanish conquistador artifact find that the jungle around them is a single living being – and it’s not happy they are there.
August 1 – The new drama Rubicon will debut for 2 hours on AMC starting at 8 PM
Show Synopis: This conspiracy thriller set in a New York City based government intelligence agency, API, where nothing is what it seems. The series stars James Badge Dale (The Pacific and 24) as Will Travers, who, faced with a shocking tragedy, begins to uncover clues that point to a complex and sinister conspiracy. The cast includes Jessica Collins (The Nine) and Miranda Richardson (Sleepy Hollow).
NOTE: The show will shift to its regular 9 PM timeslot the following week.
August 4 – Dark Blue will return to TNT at 10 PM
August 16 – Weeds returns to Showtime for its 6th season at 10 PM
August 16 – The new series The C Word will debut on Showtime at 10:30 PM
Show Synopsis: Laura Linney stars as a wife, mother and teacher who upends her life after receiving a terminal cancer diagnosis. The subject matter is very dark, but the series will attempt to look at the lighter side of this disease and the effects it has on the lead character. Oscar nominee Gabourey Sidibe and Oliver Platt are to co-star.

Day One, a mini-series from NBC MAY air on the network at some point but no confirmation has been announced to date
Show Synopsis: In the aftermath of a global event that devastates the wld’s infrastructures, a small band of survivors strive to rebuild society and unravel the mysteries of why the event took place and what the future has in store. Told from the point of view of an eclectic group of neighbors in a Van Nuys, California apartment building, this journey of survival will show us that hope is found in the smallest of victories and heroes are born every day.
