They Deserve Their Own Show (Part 42)
Here is the next installment of actors and actresses who are under-appreciated, deserving of more attention or perhaps even their own show:
Anne Dudek – Best known for her role as “Cut-Throat Bitch” on House, Anne also appeared in episodes of ER, Desperate Housewives, Charmed, Bones, Numb3rs and Castle. She also had recurring roles in Mad Men and Big Love. She will also be seen this summer in the new USA Network series Covert Affairs.
Erica Gimpel – Erica has been in the business for years, getting her start in the made-for-TV movies North & South and North & South: Book II before making her mark in the TV series Fame. Later on she appeared in the series Profiler alongside Ally Walker and had recurring roles in ER, Roswell, Veronica Mars and Boston Legal. Along the way she also made appearances in Any Day Now, JAG, Numb3rs, Criminal Minds, Everwood, House and Grey’s Anatomy. And, she also appeared in the recent made-for-TV movies Murder 101: If Wishes Were Horses and Jane Doe: The Harder They Fall.
Kristen Hager – Kristen made her debut in the made-for-TV movie Beach Girls (which starred Rob Lowe and Julia Ormond) then she appeared in another made-for-TV movie called Recipe for a Perfect Christmas alongside Carly Pope. She had guest appearances in The Dresden Files, the short-lived shows Sophie and The Listener and had a recurring role in the short-lived series Runaway. Her movie work includes AVPR: Aliens vs. Predators: Requiem. Most recently, she appeared in the made-for-TV movie Sorority Wars with Lucy Kate Hale.
Jonathan Cake – Jonathan appeared in a number of British series before catching the attention of the American audience in the short-lived FOX series American Embassy. He also starred in the made-for-TV movies Riverworld with Brad Johnson and Empire with Emily Blunt and James Frain. He then landed a recurring role in the short-lived series Six Degrees, made several appearances in Chuck and Law & Order and starred alongside Matthew Goode in the remake of Brideshead Revisited.
Matt Dallas – Best known for his leading role in the ABC Family Channel drama Kyle XY, Matt also recently appeared in the short-lived series Eastwick. He will appear in the box office movie As Good as Dead with Cary Elwes and Brian Cox and has several upcoming projects, including the made-for-TV movie Beauty & the Briefcase with Hilary Duff and Chris Carmack, The Science of Cool with Jason Mews and Mischa Barton and The Story of Bonnie and Clyde with Hilary Duff and Kevin Zegers.
Garrett Hedlund – Garrett made his feature film debut alongside Brad Pitt in Troy then moved on to the movies Friday Night Lights and Four Brothers. He was then seen in the movies Eragon and Georgia Rule. At the end of this year, he will appear in the box office movie Tron: Legacy, which given its cult status will probably make him very recognizable. He has two other projects in the works: Love Don’t Let Me Down and Hectic.
