Who Was That Last Night?: PSYCH Edition
It’s been a while since our last “Who Was That” piece, mostly because I keep forgetting to make a note when I see a familiar face. Fortunately the guest stars on Psych this season have been impossible to ignore, so in honor of a new episode tonight, let’s take a walk down memory lane.
Arnold Vosloo
On Psych: He played scary/cool Mob boss J.T. Waring who Shawn and Gus visit in prison (and Shawn becomes slightly obsessed with) in “A Very Juliet Episode”.
Where You’ve Seen Him Before: In one of my all time favorite movies and its sequel, The Mummy and The Mummy Returns, as the dead guy in question. He also had a recurring role as Vincent, a Ring henchman, on Chuck last season.
Sarah Shahi
On Psych: She played Ruby, Gus’s secret, super-hot girlfriend in “Thrill Seekers and Hell Raisers”.
Where You’ve Seen Her Before: As Dani, Damian Lewis’s cop partner in the gone-too-soon NBC series Life. She also had a recurring as Jenny on Alias, and appeared in a couple of episodes of Reba, which starred another Psych guest.
Steve Howey
On Psych: He played Derek Walker, the seemingly dim thrill-seeker whose friend is murdered in the appropriately titled “Thrill Seekers and Hell Raisers.”
Where You’ve Seen Him Before: As the seemingly dim son-in-law of Reba McIntire on the CW’s long-running sitcom Reba. He also starred in the web series CTRL alongside Tony Hale.
Stacy Keibler
On Psych: She played hot-to-trot adrenaline junkie Jessica, who was apparently too psycho even for Shawn, in “Thrill Seekers and Hell Raisers.”
Where You’ve Seen Her Before: The former WWE/WCW wrestler had a recurring role as Stephanie on What About Brian and placed third on the second season of Dancing With the Stars in 2006.
Robert Patrick
On Psych: He played General Major Felts (Say “General Major” out loud. You know you want to.) in the season opener, “You Can’t Handle This Episode.”
Where You’ve Seen Him Before: He famously took over for David Duchovny in the final two seasons of The X-Files and was the T-1000 in Terminator 2: Judgment Day. He also spent three seasons on The Unit. Watch for him on Chuck in a couple of weeks.
John Cena
On Psych: He played Juliet’s big brother Ewan, a member of a secretive military branch in the season opener “You Can’t Handle This Episode.”
Where You’ve Seen Him Before: Unlike his female counterpart Keibler (above), the WWE and WWF wrestling superstar is just now launching his acting career with this guest spot and as the star of the movie Twelve Rounds.
Not bad for just three episodes into the new season. Still to come: Judd Nelson tonight and Jeri Ryan in 2 weeks! Thanks to TV Screencaps for the images.
