They Deserve Their Own Show (Part 33)
Here is the next installment of actors and actresses who are under-appreciated, deserving of more attention or perhaps even their own show:
Sarah Paulson – Starting out in the series Jack & Jill on the WB, Sarah has appeared in Leap of Faith, Deadwood and Desperate Housewives. She had a lead role in the short-lived series Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip and Cupid. Her movie roles include What Women Want, Down With Love, Serenity, The Spirit and The Notorious Bettie Page. She also appeared in the made-for-TV movie A Christmas Wedding. She was also just seen in an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
Paola Turbay – This former beauty queen turned actress first turned heads in the short-lived CBS series Cane. She was then featured in the CBS web “series” Novel Adventures. She appeared in the made-for-TV movie Meteor, has made guest appearances in The Closer and The Secret Life of the American Teenager. And, she will be seen in the movie Flights of Fancy alongside Lacey Chabert.
Virginia Williams – Virginia may be best known for her role in the syndicated series Monarch Cove, but she has appeared in the soaps One Life to Live and As the World Turns. She has also had guest appearances in Ed, Strong Medicine, Jack & Bobby, Veronica Mars, Journeyman and In Plain Sight. She was seen in the made-for-TV movie Honeymoon with Mom and has most recently guest starred in How I Met Your Mother, Lie to Me and Better Off Ted. She just completed a project called Eva Adams that stars James Van Der Beek and Will Arnett.
Corey Sevier – As a child actor, Corey appeared in Goosebumps, Lassie and Little Men. He then appeared in the short-lived WB series Black Sash and later the series Wild Card and North Shore. He made guest appearances in CSI: Miami, The Dresden Files, Heartland, Psych and Smallville. He was also featured in the made-for-TV movie Student Seduction and he completed The Jazzman with Michael Ironside and Laura Vandervoort.
Jacob Vargas – Most recently Jacob had a recurring role in the short-lived series Moonlight, but he has also appeared in Numb3rs, CSI: NY, Six Feet Under and Clueless. He has appeared in the box office movies Dragonfly, Dr. Doolittle 2, Are We Done Yet, The Hills Have Eyes II, Jarhead and Flight of the Phoenix. His has two projects in the works including Bitter Grapes, Devil and Kerosene Cowboys.
D. B. Woodside – Best known for his recurring roles in 24 and Buffy, the Vampire Slayer, D.B. has most recently been cast in a new pilot alongside Skeet Ulrich. He has appeared in the TV shows Prey, Snoops, Flashpoint, CSI: Miami, JAG, Grey’s Anatomy and Numb3rs. He also appeared in several episodes of Hawthorne on TNT. He appeared in the made-for-TV movie The Temptations and the box office movie Romeo Must Die. He most recently appeared in episodes of Castle and Monk and he’ll be seen in the thriller My Place in the Horror with Keith David and Rochelle Aytes.
