They Deserve Their Own Show (Part 30)
Here is the next installment of actors and actresses who are under-appreciated, deserving of more attention or perhaps even their own show:
Christina Cox – Christina is best known for her role as Vicki Nelson in the Lifetime network series Blood Ties, but her resume is lengthy, including appearances in shows such as Earth, Final Conflict, Stargate SG-1, Mutant X, She Spies, Cold Case, Andromeda, CSI: Miami, House, Numb3rs, Bones and Stargate Atlantis. She was in the movie The Chronicles of Riddick, the made-for-TV movie Making Mr. Right with Dean Cain and she was just seen in the ABC summer series Defying Gravity. She will also appear in at least one episode of the upcoming 8th season of 24 when it returns next month.
Nicole Steinwedell – Nicole is a relative newcomer but caught the attention of viewers for her role as Bridget Sullivan in the recently canceled CBS series The Unit. Prior to this she made appearances in Dawson’s Creek and Modern Men. She had bit parts in the movies Crazy and He’s Just Not That Into You and she appears in the Colin Firth-led movie A Single Man (which is getting critical raves) alongside Julianne Moore, Matthew Goode and Ginnifer Goodwin.
Shoshannah Stern – Shoshannah appeared in episodes of Providence, Boston Public, ER and The Division before landing a regular role in the short-lived series Threat Matrix. She then moved on to roles in Weeds and her most recognized role of Bonnie in the fan-favorite series Jericho. Most recently she appeared in an episode of Cold Case and had a role in the made-for-TV movie Sweet Nothing in My Ear with Jeff Daniels and Marlee Matlin. She has two upcoming projects: Hamil and Five Good Years.
Carmen Argenziano – Probably best known for his recurring role in Stargate SG-1, Carmen has appeared in the shows The Practice, 24, The District, Crossing Jordan, CSI: NY, and Criminal Minds. He has also recently been seen in the Young and the Restless. He was in the box office movie Angels & Demons and the made-for-TV movie Meteor. Hishas three ongoing projects, including The Elephant Ride, Mafiosa and Ghost Writer.
Lochlyn Munro – Lochlyn has a long resume of guest appearances in shows such as Wiseguy, 21 Jump Street, Blossom, Hawkeye, Sliders, Highlander and JAG. He had a small recurring role in Charmed. More recently he has been seen in Smallville, CSI: NY, Weeds, NCIS, Without A Trace and CSI: Miami. His movie work includes Scary Movie, Dracula 2000 and Daddy Day Camp as well as the made-for-TV movie Lucky 7. Some of his upcoming projects include Hard Breakers with Tom Arnold and Tia Carrere, The Chicago 8 with Gary Cole and Steven Culp, Penthouse with Kaley Cuoco and Mya and Chad Chucka (among others).
Philip Winchester – Philip got his first big break on the short-lived NBC series Crusoe, but he appeared in the PBS ‘Great Performances’ airing of King Lear alongside Sir Ian McKellan and also guest starred in an episode of CSI: Miami. He recently appeared in the made-for-TV Lifetime movie Maneater with Sarah Chalke (from Scrubs) and he was just seen in the Syfy mini-movie Alice. His movie roles include The Patriot and Thunderbirds. He will also be seen in the independent movie In My Sleep with Abigail Spencer and Lacey Chabert and the box office movie Solomon Kane with James Purefoy and Alice Krige.
