They Deserve Their Own Show (Part 28)

Here is the next installment of actors and actresses who are under-appreciated, deserving of more attention or perhaps even their own show:

Jessica Collins

Jessica Collins

Jessica Collins – Not to be confused with the other actress Jessica Collins who was highlighted earlier, this Jessica Collins is a relative newcomer to the industry but had guest roles in Ghost Whisperer and Law & Order: Criminal Intent before landing a lead role in the short-lived series The Nine, which also starred Scott Wolf (Party of Five and V), Chi McBride (Pushing Daisies) and Tim Daly (Private Practice) [among others]. She also appeared in several episodes of CSI and had a guest role in a recent episode of The Good Wife.  She appeared in the movie The Loss of the Teardrop Diamond and will be seen in the movie Rubicon, which stars Miranda Richardson and Lili Taylor.

Alexie Gilmore

Alexie Gilmore

Alexie Gilmore – Alexie is probably best known to those who watched the short lived series New Amsterdam as Dr. Sara Dillane, but she has also appeared in Rescue Me, Hope & Faith, Love Monkey and was seen in the finale episode of the remake of Cupid. She has also recently appeared in episodes of Nurse Jackie, Private Practice and Grey’s Anatomy.  Her movie work includes The Devil Wears Prada and Definitely, Maybe.  She will also appear in a movie called Frank the Rat.

Kari Matchett

Kari Matchett

Kari Matchett – The first role that got Kari noticed was Earth: Final Conflict and then she appeared alongside Timothy Hutton in A Nero Wolfe Mystery and Wonderfalls.  Next she moved on to one of the leading roles in the short lived ABC series Invasion and later had recurring roles in 24, Heartland, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, ER and Crash. She has made guest appearances in Ugly Betty, The Cleaner, Criminals Minds, Leverage (again with Timothy Hutton) and Flashpoint. Her made-for-TV movies include 5ive Days to Murder (once again with Timothy Hutton), A Very Married Christmas, A Marriage of Convenience and the recently aired Hallmark Channel movie The National Tree with Andrew McCarthy. She also appeared in the theatrical movie Men With Brooms alongside Paul Gross (from Due South and Eastwick).  She is currently working on the pilot of the series Covert Affairs with Piper Perabo and Christopher Gorham.

Chad Faust

Chad Faust

Chad Faust – Best known for his role in The 4400, Chad has appeared in episodes of Black Sash, Smallville, CSI: Miami and CSI: NY. More recently he has been in a couple episodes of Heroes as well as episodes of Cold Case and Trauma. He was part of the cast of the box office movie Saved! with Jena Malone and Mandy Moore and he had a small role in the Sci-Fi Channel miniseries Taken. He will also appear in the movie Red & Blue Marbles with Bill Sadler and Ruby Dee.

Kyle Gallner

Kyle Gallner

Kyle Gallner – Kyle made guest appearances in Touched By An Angel, The District, Judging Amy and Jack & Bobby before landing a role in the acclaimed series Veronica Mars. He also had recurring roles in Big Love, CSI: NY and Smallville. He appeared in the theatrical movies The Haunting in Connecticut and Jennifer’s Body.  He will also be seen in the upcoming remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street with Jackie Earle Haley, Katie Cassidy (Melrose Place) and Thomas Dekker (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles).

Bryce Johnson

Bryce Johnson

Bryce Johnson – Bryce is probably best known for his role in the short-lived WB series Popular, but he has appeared in Gilmore Girls, Dawson’s Creek, House, Nip/Tuck, What I Like About You, Standoff, Shark, Without A Trace, Side Order of Life, The Mentalist and Drop Dead Diva. He also appeared in several episodes of Damages. His movie work includes The Skulls II, Chasing Papi and Bring It On Again. He will also be seen in the movie Hit List with Joseph Lawrence.
