They Deserve Their Own Show (Part 22)

Here is the next installment of actors and actresses who are under-appreciated, deserving of more attention or perhaps even their own show:
Abigail Spencer

Abigail Spencer

Abigail Spencer – Some folks will remember Abigail from All My Children or in the lead role of Angela Henson in the short-lived Lifetime series Angela’s Eyes. Most recently she’s been seen in episodes of BonesGhost Whisperer, My Boys, How I Met Your Mother,  Moonlight and Private Practice.  She has also been seen in several episodes of Mad Men.  She has one project in the works – the thriller In My Sleep with Lacey Chabert and Philip Winchester.

Alona Tal

Alona Tal

Alona Tal – Alona started out in guest appearances in CSI, Cold Case and 7th Heaven before landing a recurring role in Veronica Mars. She then moved on to several appearances on Supernatural and a recurring role in the short-lived CBS drama Cane. She has since guest starred in The Cleaner, Ghost Whisperer, The Mentalist, Party Down and Knight Rider. Her movie roles include Taking 5 and College. She will also be seen in the movies Kalamity with Nick Stahl and Jonathan Jackson and Undocumented with Kevin Weisman (Alias).

Sarah Thompson

Sarah Thompson

Sarah Thompson – Sarah got her first role in the movie The Ice Storm then moved on to appearances in Boston Public, Line of Fire, but it was her role as Eve in Angel that got her the most attention. Since then she has appeared in 7th Heaven, Without A Trace and House. Her movie roles include Cruel Intentions 2, the made-for-TV movie A Christmas Proposal and Taking Chance with Kevin Bacon.  She will be seen in the movie Brooklyn’s Finest, which stars Richard Gere, Don Cheadle and Ethan Hawke (just to name a few) and Break with Michael Madsen.

Kavan Smith

Kavan Smith

Kavan Smith – He’s a veteran of the sci-fi realm and is probably best known as Major Lorne in Stargate: SG-1 and Stargate: Atlantis. He’s also had appearances in Smallville, Tru Calling, The Outer Limits, Battlestar Galactica, The 4400, Sanctuary and Supernatural.  He is curently filming the made-for-TV movie Growing the Big One with Shannen Doherty and he will appear in the next Stargate: Atlantis movie called Stargate: Extinction.

Jeremy Sumpter

Jeremy Sumpter

Jeremy Sumpter – Jeremy is probably best known for his lead role in the 2003 theatrical movie Peter Pan, but he has also appeared in the short-lived series Clubhouse and made guest appearances in ER, Strong Medicine and CSI: Miami. He has most recently had a recurring role in the critically acclaimed series Friday Night Lights. He appeared in the made-for-TV movie Cyber Seduction: His Secret Life and he will be numerous new projects, including Calvin Marshall, Prep School, Death and Cremation and You’re So Cupid! with Lauren Holly and Brian Kruase (Charmed).

Michael Trucco

Michael Trucco – Best known as Sam Anders, husband of Kara “Starbuck” Thrace on Battlestar Galactica, Michael made guest appearances in shows like Sisters, Touched By An Angel, Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman and Charmed before landing a role in the syndicated series Pensacola: Wings of Gold. He has also been seen in CSI, Tru Calling, Strong Medicine, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, One Tree Hill, Eli Stone and The Big Bang Theory.  He had a small role in the box office movie Next with Nicolas Cage and Jessica Biel and appeared in the made-for-TV movie Perfect Romance.  He will be seen in the Syfy movie Battlestar Galactica: The Plan that was released on DVD in October.
