They Deserve Their Own Show (Part 20)

Here is the next installment of actors and actresses who are under-appreciated, deserving of more attention or perhaps even their own show:

Missi Pyle

Missi Pyle

Missi Pyle – Some of Missi’s first appearances were in the comedies Mad About You, Friends and Ally McBeal. Her first big movie breaks were in Josie and the Pussycats and Home Alone 4. She had small roles in the movies Bringing Down the House, Along Came Polly and 50 First Dates. She was in two episodes of Heroes and several episodes of the short-lived FOX series The Wedding Bells. She made a memorable appearance in Pushing Daisies and she has several projects in the works, including Barry Munday, This Might Hurt and Miss Nobody.

Autumn Reeser

Autumn Reeser

Autumn Reeser – Autumn got her big break as Taylor Townsend in The O.C. and really made a name for herself, going from the bitch to the girl that you couldn’t help but root for and even adore. She then appeared in an episode of Pushing Daisies and had a lead role in the short-lived CW series Valentine. Her movies have been regrettably unmemorable, but she has just recently appeared in Entourage and she will star in the box office movies Smokin’ Aces: Blowback, Possessions and The Big Bang with Antonio Bandares.

Jessy Schram

Jessy Schram

Jessy Schram – Folks will best know Jessy as the daughter of Lea Thompson in all the Jane Doe movies on the Hallmark Channel, but she also appeared in several episodes of Veronica Mars, was “Young Allison” in Medium and had a recurring role in the short-lived NBC series Life. She also made guest appearances in Boston Legal, Without a Trace, House, Ghost Whisperer and CSI: Miami. She has several projects in the works: Limelight, Night and Day, Unstoppable with Denzel Washington and Chris Pine and the untitled Steven Spielberg pilot about an alien invasion, starring Noah Wyle.

Kristoffer Polaha

Kristoffer Polaha – He had guest appearances in Angel, Roswell, Birds of Prey and Tru Calling before playing the late John F. Kennedy, Jr. in the made-for-TV movie America’s Prince: The John F. Kennedy Jr. Story. Kristoffer then landed one of the lead roles in the short-lived FOX series North Shore then moved on to appearances in House, CSI: Miami, Bones, Close to Home and Mad Men. He later landed lead roles in both short-lived series Miss/Guided and Valentine. He has most recently been seen in Without A Trace, Better Off Ted and Dollhouse. And, he will be seen in the CW mid-season series Life UneXpected alongside Roswell alum Shiri Appleby and Dawson’s Creek alum Kerr Smith.

Scott Porter

Scott Porter

Scott Porter – Scott had a 4 episode stint in As the World Turns, appeared in the short lived CW series The Bedford Dairies and appeared in the box office movies Descent, Music and Lyrics, Prom Night and Speed Racer. But it’s his role in the critically acclaimed, but under-watched series Friday Night Lights that got him the most attention. He appeared in the movie Bandslam and will be seen in The Good Guy with Alexis Bledel and Dear John with Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried.

Josh Randall

Josh Randall

Josh Randall – Josh is best known for his role in the much beloved NBC series Ed, but he’s also been seen in the made-for-TV movies Snow Wonder and Romancing the Bride, had several appearances in Scrubs and Courting Alex and has made appearances in Lost, Women’s Murder Club, Men In Trees, Private Practice, Pushing Daisies, Life and Raising the Bar. He is currently filming the thriller The Bad Penny.
