I met up with the cast and creator of Bones at Fox’s Critics’ Association Party last month where they were happy to discuss various aspects of this upcoming season, including inter-office romances and the fallout from last season’s finale.
Executive Producer Hart Hanson says that he is aware of some fans’ negative reaction to the dream sequence in the season 4 finale, but is confident that the first episode of this season will provide answers about Booth’s amnesia. In addition, Hanson sees the season opener as a second part to last season’s finale. The opener, which picks up six weeks after Booth comes out of the coma, sees Dr. Brennan back from Guatamala and Booth still experiencing gaps in his memory.
Later this season we’ll see Brennan and Booth investigating the death of an Amish boy, and in another episode the team heads to a suburban cul-de-sac to investigate a body that has been cooked in a luau pit.
John Francis Daley revealed that Dr. Sweets will be working with Brennan and Booth as always, but the opening episodes will also feature Sweets working with Brennan to help Booth compensate for the memory gaps, which he’s hiding from everyone else for the sake of returning to work. David Boreanaz commented that Sweets always strives towards controlling his sessions with Brennan and Booth, but that continues to be thwarted by the dynamic duo.
Elsewhere around the Jeffersonian, Sweets’ relationship with Daisy is still going strong. In addition to knowing more about Sweets’ dating life, the audience will also learn that Sweets’ penchant for the keyboard from the finale was not a fluke. Like last season, Angela and Sweets will have their hand at going undercover for case, though the specifics aren’t known as of now.
The on and off relationship with Hodgins and Angela is also a topic of focus this season. Hodgins might not be pining for Angela much longer, according to TJ Thyne, which surprised Michaela Conlin, who plays Angela. However, the vow of celibacy that Angela made last season will come to an end although they Conlin didn’t know who would help her break that vow (as of the time of the interview, Hanson was writing the episode where the celibacy ends).
Lastly, the relationship between Brennan and Booth will be going forward. Boreanaz disclosed that at some point Booth will admit that he has feelings for Dr. Brennan, leading to Booth having to court Brennan. The prospect of that alone should get us through another 5 seasons!
Bones season 5 premieres tonight on FOX at 8/7c.

i don’t think that the Bones promo video is up at fox anymore, but i think they have the full version on youtube. it’s really cool.
i was really shocked, cause i thought booth told brennan he didn’t love her like that. and i know they both like each other, and i’m just so caught up into this show i want him to tell her, so they will FINALLY get together, MORE AND MORE AND MORE fans will loose there intrest in this show if we have to wait another 1 or 2 seasons. i PROMISE THIS, cause most have us have been waiting for 2 years. i don’t know how much longer i can handle waiting.
Ugh, I still hope they dont get together. I dont know why, but i just think it’ll lose more interest with them together than without them together.

nah i dont think they should get together officially….what the fans love is watching them dance around the issue even thought we fully know that it should happen….i think that would be the best way to end the whole series, which, mind you, i hope is not for a long time. this is the best show i’ve ever watched and i hope it goes on for a at least 3 more seasons…
It just crossed my mind that maybe Angela + Sweets = End of celebacy.
John had mentioned that Sweets and Daisy were still together, so it might not be that. There’s something ahead for Angela, however.

But if anyone listens to the radio (which is actually rare for me) I caught a little teaser. Booth ADMITS IT!! I was so happy I screamed, so I missed what Bones said, but then he HAD to go and say ‘y’know in a professional way.’ AAGHGH!!!! HE’S AN IDIOT!

I would love to see them get together as a couple. Anyway you can’t have both Either way, someone is going to lose interest in the show: those who hope Brennan and Booth get together or those who hope they don’t.
Well I’m a huge bones fan and have been watching it since season one! So with that said , I can tell u this we can say that booth an bones both love each other very much and it’s only a matter of time b4 they actually hook up get married and have a baby!!! As for the the rest of the squints… Angela and hogdins back together cam an jared a possibility or what’s his face the other black squint that took over foe zack and sweets and daisy… Hhmmmm idk that’s a iffing!?
I don’t want them to be a fully-fledged couple right away, but we need another kiss or something-something that tells us they’re heading in that direction!
