They Deserve Their Own Show (Part 15)

Here is the next installment of actors and actresses who are under-appreciated, deserving of more attention or perhaps even their own show:

Kate Mara

Kate Mara

Kate Mara – Kate has made guest appearances in TV shows such as Law & Order, Ed, Everwood, Cold Case, Boston Public, CSI and CSI: Miami. She also had several appearances on Nip/Tuck, Jack & Bobby and 24. Her film roles include Random Hearts, Zoom, Brokeback Mountain, We Are Marshall and Shooter. She will appear in the movies The Open Road with Justin Timberlake and Jeff Bridges, Peep World with Michael C. Hall and Famke Janssen, HappyThankYouMorePlease with Malin Akerman and Tony Hale and Iron Man 2 with Robert Downey, Jr. and Scarlett Johansson.

Kandyse McClure

Kandyse McClure

Kandyse McClure – Kandyse may be best known as the ill-fated Dee (Apollo’s wife) on Battlestar Galactica, but she has a long resume including the Joe Lando post-Dr. Quinn series Higher Ground (which co-starred then unknowns Hayden Christenson, Jewel Staite and A.J. Cook), a short, but memorable role in Dark Angel and numerous guest appearances in the series Jeremiah.  She also guest starred in Jake 2.0, Andromeda, Smallville and the short-lived series Whistler.  Most recently she has appeared on episodes of  Sanctuary and Reaper.  She appeared in the made-for-TV movies Carrie with Emilie De Ravin and Santa Baby with Jenny McCarthy and Ivan Sergei.  She will be seen in the remake of Children of the Corn with David Anders, Broken Kingdom with Rachael Leigh Cook and Seymour Cassel, Cole with Chad Willett and Santa Baby 2.

Mercedes McNab

Mercedes McNab

Mercedes McNab – She made a name for herself as Spike’s vampire girlfriend Harmony on both Buffy, the Vampire Slayer and Angel.  But before that she appeared in episodes of The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr., Touched By An Angel, Boston Public and Dawson’s Creek.  Since then she has made appearances in Crossing Jordan, Reaper, Supernatural, Psych and Criminal Minds.  She will appear in the movie Medium Raw with John Rhys-Davies and William B. Davis and the movie Glass Heels with Sandra Bernhard.

Jason Lewis

Jason Lewis

Jason Lewis – Probably best known as one of the many lovers of Samantha Jones in Sex and the City, Jason first appeared in the series High Sierra Search and Rescue then made a short recurring role in Beverly Hills, 90210.  He has also been seen in Charmed, Brothers & Sisters and House.  His movie roles include Mr. Brooks with Kevin Costner and Sex and the City (the movie).  He also appeared in  the made-for-TV movie For One Night with Raven-Symone and Aisha Tyler.  He was  in the Nora Roberts Lifetime movie Tribute with Brittany Murphy and he will be seen in the movie The Pardon alongside Jaime King and T.J. Thyne (Hodgins on Bones).

Matt Long

Matt Long

Matt Long – His first big role was in the short-lived but critically acclaimed WB series Jack & Bobby, he was briefly seen in the movie Ghost Rider and starred alongside Amanda Bynes and Sara Paxton in the box office movie Sydney White. He will appear in the movie Homecoming with Mischa Barton and Jessica Stroup and the movie Riding the Pine with Justin Chatwin and Jaime King.  He will be seen next year in the mid-season ABC series The Deep End alongside Billy Zane, Tina Majorino and Clancy Brown.

Ken Marino

Ken Marino

Ken Marino – Some folks may remember him from Men Behaving Badly and Dawson’s Creek, but he’s probably best known as Vinnie Van Lowe on Veronica Mars and as Tony on Reaper. He appeared in the made-for-TV movie Falling in Love with the Girl Next Door and had guest roles in Grey’s Anatomy, CSI: Miami, United States of Tara and In the Motherhood. Ken is now appearing in the cable series Party Down, done by Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas, alongside Ryan Hansen, Jane Lynch, Lizzie Caplan and Adam Scott.
