They Deserve Their Own Show (Part 10)

Here is the next installment of actors and actresses who are under-appreciated, deserving of more attention or perhaps even their own show.

Sammi Hanratty

Sammi Hanratty

Sammi Hanratty – The youngest actress on this list, Sammi is best known as Young Chuck (aka Charlotte Charles) from the critically-acclaimed series Pushing Daisies, but she started out with guest roles in shows such as Charmed, Drake & Josh, House, CSI: NY, Cold Case and That’s So Raven before making several appearances on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. She appeared as an Elf in The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause. She also had a recurring role in the now-defunct CBS series The Unit. She has no less than 6 projects in the works, including Kalamity, Magic, Jack and the Beanstalk (alongside Chevy Chase and Katey Segal), A Christmas Carol (featuring Jim Carrey and Gary Oldman), The Amazing Mrs. Novak and The Lost Medallion: The Adventures of Billy Stone.

Elaine Hendrix

Elaine Hendrix

Elaine Hendrix – Elaine has a lengthy resume, including guest appearances in The Adventures of Briscoe County, Jr., Special Unit 2, Friends and Married with Children. She had recurring roles in the series The Chronicle and Joan of Arcadia. She also made guest appearances in CSI: Miami, Ghost Whisperer, The Middleman and Criminal Minds. Her most recent appearance was in the CW series Privileged and she’s got 8 projects in the works, including Good Intentions, Material Lies and David.

Hallee Hirsh

Hallee Hirsh

Hallee Hirsh – Hallee made a number of appearances on soap operas during her childhood career and then made the move to such shows as Law & Order, Malcolm in the Middle, Judging Amy, Family Law, Six Feet Under and Will & Grace. Many will remember her from her recurring role in JAG as Harm’s “adopted” daughter. After that she appeared in Grey’s Anatomy, Without a Trace, Ghost Whisperer, Saving Grace and Cold Case. She appeared in the movie Speak alongside Kristen Stewart (Twilight).  She has recently appeared as Hannah Zuckerman-Vasquez in the revamped 90210, Rachel in ER and had a lead role in the series Flight 29 Down (a teen “rip-off” of Lost). She has several upcoming projects including 16 to Life and Fading of the Cries .

Devon Gummersall

Devon Gummersall

Devon Gummersall – Devon made an impression as Brian Krakow in the short-lived but much beloved TV series My So Called Life before moving on to recurring roles in Relativity, Felicity and Roswell. He had guest appearances in Tru Calling, Without A Trace, Monk, Drive, 24 and Law & Order: Criminal Intent. He also most recently had a role in the short-lived Lifetime TV series State of Mind.  He is currently filming the movie Tripping Tommy with Sarah Carter (Shark).

Justin Hartley

Justin Hartley

Justin Hartley – Best known to soap opera fans as Nicholas Crane in Passions, Justin was cast as the lead in the proposed CW series Aquaman that never made it to air and has become a regular cast member in Smallville, starring as Oliver Queen aka Green Arrow. He also appeared in the online series Gemini Division alongside Rosario Dawson. He will also be seen in the movie Spring Breakdown, starring Amy Poehler, Parker Posey and Will Arnett.

Christopher Heyerdahl

Christopher Heyerdahl

Christopher Heyerdahl – Christopher’s voice is probably more recognizable than his face as some of the characters he has portrayed include the Wraith Todd in Stargate Atlantis and Bigfoot in Sanctuary.  He will be seen as one of the Volturi in the Twilight series movie New Moon in November. He has also been seen as Zor-El in Smallville and Alastair in Supernatural.  His movie work includes The Invisible, The Chronicles of Riddick and Blade: Trinity.  He was also seen in the made-for-TV movies Killer Wave and Into the West.
