Nice Boy of the Week: Owain Yeoman
While attending this year’s PaleyFest at the Arclight Theater in L.A. last week, we had the opportunity to sit in on The Mentalist panel. The first person introduced was Owain Yoeman. All six foot-something of him. As he started to play with the audience, his boyish grin and Welsh accent grabbed us right away, and Melissa said, “Nice Boy!” I agreed.
Born in Wales in 1978, Owain is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. After starring in quite a few plays in the London area, he was picked up by Warner Bros. for a little film that starred Brad Pitt and my ex-heartthrob, Orlando Bloom. Owain played ‘Lysander’ in Troy. From there, he appeared in Midsummer Murders, The Nine, Kitchen Confidential, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Generation Kill. I first saw him as ‘Kromartie’ in the pilot of Sarah Connor, before Garrett Dillahunt took over the role.
Owain admitted to passing the time on the set of The Mentalist by looking up Chuck Norris-isms with co-star Tim Kang (Cho). He certainly kept us laughing at Paley! His fellow stars on the show named him as the jokster on the set, and he did not disagree.
You can enjoy watching our Nice Boy in action on The Mentalist, every Tuesday night at 8 p.m./7 Central, on CBS.
