What we learned from the TV Guide Fan Favorites Panel

By  |

At San Diego Comic Con the last few years, TV Guide has hosted a “Fan Favorites” panel. This year’s did not disappoint! On the panel were Brandon Routh (Legends of Tomorrow), David Ramsey (Arrow), Tom Ellis (Lucifer), Tamara Taylor (Bones), Bruce Campbell (Ash vs The Evil Dead), Rebecca Mader (Once Upon a Time), Marie Augeropoulos (The 100), and Jason Ralph (The Magicians).

Lots of questions were asked and answered in a very entertaining panel. Here were some of the highlights for me:

  • Ramsey wants to guest star on Supergirl, his character Diggle will get a new helmet this year, and he is a huge fan of The Flash.
  • Augeropoulos loves motorcycles – she has two, the latest is purple. Others on the panel joked about whether her contract at The 100 actually allows riding her motorcycles.
  • Ellis didn’t know that Lucifer was based on a comic book until after he got the part. He originally was going to play him with an American accent, but thought that he just sounded “like a dick”, so he switched to his normal accent because Americans will let me say just about anything using it. He’s also a major Battlestar Galactica fan, so he’s both ecstatic and kind of uncomfortable that Tricia Helfer has been cast as his mother on Lucifer.
  • Campbell apparently really loves the old TJ Hooker series, but admits that it has not withheld the test of time and conversion to HD.
  • Routh is hooked on Orphan Black, Game of Thrones, and Silicon Valley
  • Mader says that we can expect some more cool stuff between Regina and Zelena.

The panel will likely be on the internet in its entirety soon, but for now, enjoy these fun bits!

Cay's family thinks her obsession with pop culture is "not normal". Normal is boring!
