2014 Holiday Gift Guide

By  |

Ho-ho-ho! The holiday season is upon us and this Friday kicks off the mad dash for gifts. Shops will be crazy busy and some people won’t have a clue what to buy for Aunt Meg or Cousin Jimmy. While we may not be able to help out with all the gift giving for your friends and family, we can at least offer up some of our ideas for the TV lover in the group. And man, do we have ideas! So get out those lists and check them twice, we’ll help you find gifts for the naughty and the nice!

tvd-luminaries_002Our lovely Lisa has a friend in all the right places, but mostly Etsy. Cheryl has created these super cool luminaries for the vampire/fantasy lover that you know. Visit her Etsy page, www.cherylscreativeblock.etsy.com, for these Vampire Diaries pieces, showcasing Stefan and Damon Salvatore. Charyl also has luminaries featuring “Once Upon A Time”, “True Blood”, “The Vampire Diaries”, “Twilight” and tons more. I’ve been to her page and let me tell you, bring a drool bucket if you visit her. Wow! Prices for these beauties range from $15.99-27.99 plus tax and shipping. Go grab a couple now, and you might as well treat yourself too. After all, shopping is a tiring thing!

Angela is a huge The Mindy Project fan and she’s got some ideas that are sure to make you the star of someone’s Christmas this year. Head on over to the Fox Shop for these gift ideas straight from the show. Angels’a pick – the ‘My Warrior Name Is Beyonce Pad Thai’ Tank Top! Or decorate your home like Mindy would by shopping at ShoptheTV.com!

Speaking of Mindy Kaling, did you know she has a book published? Well she does and we know where you can get some copies of “Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns)“. Also for the reader in your circle of family and friends, Angela recommends that you check out a few copies of Amy Poehler’s “Yes, Please”.

Angela still has one more idea for the “Chicago Fire” fan that you know. Keep warm this winter with a “Chicago Fire” hoodie (as seen on the show!) – https://chicagofireandcopshop.com/shopexd.asp?id=752 . Who wouldn’t want some of those? More gift ideas from the show can be found at the NBC Store.

Louise is all about those adorable Pop! Vinyls from Funco figurines. I can’t blame her, I’m building a collection of Marvel characters, myself! They’ve got tiny dolls featuring characters from “Frozen”, “Maleficent”, “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.“, “Big Bang Theory”, “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”, “Firefly” and much, much more. They can be found in most Walmart stores so be on the lookout!

For the “Doctor Who” fan in your life, Louise encourages you to check out the BBC Shop as well as ThinkGeek.com (my favorite online store!), for tons of gifts from t-shirts to shower curtains. You simply can’t go wrong!

Also, Louise says you can pre-order the next copy of the Veronica Mars book, “Mr. Kiss and Tell“, due for release on January 24th, 2015. Winning!

Lee Ann would like to recommend some romance and witchery for the holidays. The Outlander Store is loaded with gifts for your “Outlander” people on the list. There’s even Tartan wrapping paper! Replicas of Claire’s wedding ring and necklace can also be found there.

Are there any book lovers you need to buy a gift for? Lee Ann favors “The Secret Diary of Lizzie Bennet” (the book written after the web series ended), based on the award-winning YouTube series, “The Lizzie Bennet Diaries”. Pair that up with a cozy throw and some hot cocoa and you’ve got the perfect Christmas gift!

Perhaps you’ve got some witches on your list that need some attention. Lee Ann suggests The Good Witch 6-DVD set. For a great price, you can enchant the trickiest friend with all 6 movies which aired on The Hallmark Channel, and starred Catherine Bell as The Good Witch. Hmm, I may have to add that to my own list of things-to-get-for-myself-when-the-holidays-are-over-and-I-didn’t-get-what-I-asked-for.

Nice Girl Leah has some ideas of her own. She’ll help you deal with the Scandal-ous folks on your list, beginning with a set of wine glasses approved by Olivia Pope, herself. Crate & Barrel has just the thing with their ‘Camille’ 23 oz. wine glasses. Perfect!

Leah also founds some wonderful “Scandal“-centric gift ideas over at Etsy. You’ve got this handled, folks!

Check out the Fox Shop for all things New Girl while you’re trying to think of that last-minute gift. Leah says they can satisfy even the pickiest customer!

Last on Leah’s list of gift ideas is something for the “Haven” fans, particularly Eric Balfour’s clothing line, which can be found at Electric & Rose Clothing.

I’ve got a few ideas of my own I’d like to toss out at you. Being the huge “Grimm” fan that I am (we cover that show on our sister site, TheFairyTaleSite.net), I’ve got a great idea for your monster holiday list! Head on over to Amazon and pick a couple copies of “Aunt Marie’s Book of Lore“. It’s a beautiful book featuring high gloss photos from the show as well as drawings from Nick’s Grimm book of monsters and the stories behind them. I actually have this book and it looks gorgeous on my coffee table. The NBC Universal Store has some Grimm gifts as well.

Not many can wear a Stetson Mercury hat like Red can in The Blacklist but for those who’d like to try, you can find them HERE. He won’t mind! He’ll even be flattered!

Finally, bring your ‘A’ game with Pretty Little Liars gifts, from iPhone case covers to jewelry inspired by the girls, Aria, Hannah, Emily and Spencer. Find all that and more at Etsy’s PLL market. Check out this Pretty Little Liars Luminary Lamp Night Light, again by Lisa’s friend, Cheryl. Cute!

After all that shopping you’re going to need a little pick-me-up. Why not try some flavored coffee from the Cake Boss for your Keurig coffee machine! I have these little gems at home and I can tell you they are delish! I have Chocolate Cannoli, Buddy’s Blend (my personal favorite), Vanilla Buttercream and Raspberry Truffle. I’m not a fan of raspberries so I can’t tell you what that is like, but I can say honestly that the other three are to die for.

For the kiddies, I have a wonderful suggestion that will keep your young ones busy long enough for you to enjoy that cup of coffee mentioned above. Discovery Kids has this super cool Tyrannosaurus Rex Excavation Kit and I’m telling you, not only did my kids actually work together on it, but they were kept busy for a good couple of hours. Children will actually dig up the bones of a T-Rex and then put them together, learning about them all along.  This kit includes a bonus mobile video game for your iOS or Android device. Let them have an adventure while you’re on the run!

I think we’ve given you enough to get your thoughts marinating, yes? If you’ve found a really cool gift online for your favorite TV fanatic, share the link with us in the comments below. We’re always on the lookout for something unique and fun!

Happy shopping!
