PRETTY LITTLE LIARS: Meet Mona’s Mother, Leona Vanderwaal

Pretty Little Liars will be throwing another ‘A’ suspect into the mix when we are finally introduced to Mona’s mother, Leona Vanderwaal. Playing Leona is Sydney Penny, a talented film and television actress who won critical acclaim at age 10 for her role in the ABC mini-series “The Thorn Birds”. More recently, Sydney has been seen in the Lifetime original movie, “The Wife He Met Online”, Hallmark Channel’s “The Wish List”, “Little Red Wagon” and “Dark Canyon”. She also co-produced her first feature film, “Heart of the Country” in 2012. (SydneyPenny.net)

Sydney is also a daytime soap opera star, coming from “All My Children” and “The Bold and the Beautiful”.

Leona is a recurring role so expect to get a lot more insight to Mona’s past and what life is like at home with Momma. Janel Parrish (Mona) has been posting photos of her and her on-screen mom on Instagram and I swear Janel looks so much like her, it’s uncanny.
