This is part of our series interviewing celebrities, bloggers, and all-around-interesting-people about the TV shows that impacted them as children, young adults, and today. This week we’re talking with New York Times Best Selling Author, Alannah Lynne.

What’s the first show you remember watching? How old were you?
I’m not sure if they’re the first, but I loved “Bewitched” and “I Dream of Jeannie” and, of course, “Little House on the Prairie.” But I wasn’t allowed to watch it. LOL I’m the only kid in America, EVER, who was told they couldn’t watch “Little House” because it was too traumatic. 😀 My parents separated when I was six, and I was such an emotional basket case, that anything slightly emotional was too much for me. I’d cry like a baby (rather than the six or seven year old that I was), so it finally got to the point where my mom stopped me from watching it. Which was okay, because I hated to cry even then. 😀

What was your favorite TV show as a child?
“Charlie’s Angels!” What pre-teen girl didn’t want to be an Angel?! 😀 I had all the trading cards, and I had the hair… I even developed the big, cheesy grin!! LOL

What show defined your high school and/or college years?
I don’t remember watching much TV in high school, but I do remember watching “Miami Vice” every Friday night, while getting ready to go downtown. 😀 That show didn’t go off until 11:00, and then I had a thirty minute drive from my house to “downtown.” If someone told me, NOW, that I needed to start getting ready to go out at 10:00 PM, and then leave my house for a good time no earlier than 11:00… *snort* I’m usually out and back in plenty of time to catch shows that COME ON at 10:00 now. LOL

Which current show is Must See TV for you?
Too many!!! For years, I didn’t watch anything but sporting events, mostly NASCAR and college sports. Then, while on a mini-vacation with my husband, I discovered “NCIS.” I think it was in the like the 7th or 8th season by then! (I’ve always been a late bloomer. LOL). Now, I’m hooked on “NCIS” and “NCIS:LA” (I absolutely adore Deeks). Of course, you know the love I have for Alex Big O’migodLaughlin, so I always watch “Hawaii Five-O.” My oldest son and I used to watch “The Mentalist” together, but since he’s moved back out that’s sort of hit or miss for me. The same goes for “Chicago Fire.” My youngest is on the volunteer fire department, so we used to watch that together, but I think I’m about 5 episodes behind now. I was also madly in love with “Flashpoint,” but they cancelled it, so I think I’m down to just the ones I mentioned now. 😀

If you could resurrect any TV show, what would it be?
“In Plain Sight” on USA. I loved that show!! I loved Mary and her attitude – she’s actually a lot like the heroine in my mystery series (the one I’m still trying to get finished up). I went into mourning when they cancelled that show! I love Netflix, because I can go back and spend a little time with her and Marshall whenever I’m missing them too much. 😀 Same with “Numb3rs.” I didn’t get into that show until was cancelled, but Netflix makes it so easy to go back and rewatch. Oh, “Lie To Me” too. That’s a great show to watch as a writer, because it gives so much information about the subtle nuances in people’s behavior, body language, facial expression, etc. I really liked that show, too, and wish they would bring it back.

This has been fun!! Thanks for letting me play along!!!
