NECESSARY ROUGHNESS: Previewing the Winter Premiere, “Frozen Fish Sticks” [Spoilers]

By  |

Necessary Roughness returns to finish out season 2 with Frozen Fish Sticks. Peter MacNicol appears as Dr. Gunner, Dani’s old professor. As he helps her work through her issues, which by the way, do involve a frozen fish, T.K. is trying out life in a ‘new skin’ after rehab and finds the challenges very frustrating.

Meanwhile the future of the Hawks is up in the air since Marshall Pittman’s death but that’s not the only repercussion. His daughter, Juliette, has some decisions to make and one of them could effect the Hawks. Her other decision could effect Ray Jay.

Speaking of Ray Jay, we find out the consequences of his actions in the mid-season finale. And when Juliette pays a visit, looking for Dani, she connects with Ray Jay and Dani is none too happy about it.

It seems as though Necessary Roughness is giving itself a reboot of sorts. Everyone is trying out new beginnings. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out toward the season finale.

A few spoiler tidbits:

  • T.K. meets his match;
  • Matt and Nico become rivals and not necessarily just because of Dani;
  • Ray Jay receives an offer from an unexpected source;
  • The New York Hawks get a new owner;
  • Dani gains her confidence back and re-opens her practice.

Also, look for two Downton Abby references just to make things fun.

Necessary Roughness returns Wednesday, Jan. 23, at 10/9c, on USA Network.
