DON’T TRUST THE B–: Bar Lies…

By  |

There’s something odd about seeing the same story-telling technique two weeks in a row. But there’s a good thing in seeing James really excited about going on Dancing with the Stars.

Chloe is telling “bar lies” which are things to get free drinks from bartenders. James plays along too to get Chloe a drink as Katie Holmes’ cousin. Chloe’s keeping that up the next day, only this time it’s about the yellow line in football games.

As June gets more excited about her mom’s visit, there’s bad news in the form of June’s father being sick and not coming after all.

James asks June to write a check for his maid and as she arrives, Chloe is pretending to be a realtor to rent James’ apartment while he’s in LA.

June feels horrible that Chloe constantly rents out James’ apartment while he’s away, but she wants to tell the truth before being reminded, by Chloe, that telling him might negatively influence his performance.

Dean puts on a great show in the rehearsal, but James is just so much better.

Back in New York, June can’t help but see James in every station on her TV, just before Chloe tells her that there’s something at James’ place.

Chloe, has put together an olive oil tasting at James’ apartment, much to June’s dismay. June, disgruntled, goes to visit Pastor Jin. Pastor Jin, who is now living her in office because of her lies of omission to her husband.

As June calls her mom to tell her about the olive oil tasting, it seems Connie went to LA to visit James instead of going to New York to visit June. To make it worse, James learns about Chloe’s sublet via June and Connie’s skype call.

Connie tries to say that parents lie to their parents all the time, even if that lie is because James wants Connie in the live-studio audience.

Hopefully Luther is able to calm James down enough for James not to screw up his routine. It doesn’t seem to work so far, but Connie has a nice cup of tea and that seems to work.

June’s now into lying all the time, from calls to friends to a bartender who doesn’t buy it. At least we discover that June didn’t pay Yolanda after all, before June tries to get Chloe not to lie anymore.

Connie’s tea has made James freak out on the stage, with some strange Chinese tea. Chloe and June watch before calling and admitting that the whole routine was horrible.

James’ button on the episode is about how the producers didn’t allow him enough time to show off the dance. I’m okay with this button because that dance is pretty awesome. I hope that the rest of the season gives us more of that (and well more of Dean Cain dancing to compete with James). I’m a very simple girl with very simple wishes.
