Nice Boy of the Week: Joss Whedon

By  |

We welcome our new Nice Boy of the Week, Joss Whedon! The Nice Girls have long been fans of Joss’s from way back, so the vote for his induction was unanimous.

To write about Joss would mean a 20-part series and is better done by others, but we can tell you the reasons we heart him. Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly, Serenity, Dollhouse, Dr. Horrible and Angel. That’s just naming a few!

Joss will be directing an upcoming episode of Glee which will also feature Neil Patrick Harris, who also starred in Whedon’s Dr. Horrible. When I heard this news I said, “Er?” The reigning king of sci-fi directing an episode of Glee? This should be very interesting, indeed, and I am looking forward to it. I believe in Whedon’s talent and creativity.

Whedon also has the most dedicated fan base I think I’ve ever seen. Not only do they get behind his projects 150%, but they were the key organizers in worldwide screenings of Serenity which raised $250,000 since 2006, benefiting Equality Now, a human rights organization supported by Whedon.

Whedon’s innovative ideas set him apart from the norm, and his sense of humor and wit have truly qualified him as this week’s Nice Boy.
