They Deserve Their Own Show (Part 45)
Here is the next installment of actors and actresses who are under-appreciated, deserving of more attention or perhaps even their own show:
Luciana Carro – One of Luciana’s first roles was in the made-for-TV movie I Want to Marry Ryan Banks followed by a recurring role in the short-lived series The Chris Isaak Show. She made guest appearances in The L Word, Young Blades, Smallville and Everwood. She is probably best known for her recurring role in Battlestar Galactica and her recent appearance in Caprica. She has appeared in the made-for-TV movies Snowglobe and Phantom Racer, and her movie roles include Blades of Glory and White Chicks.
Jamie Chung – While Jamie is best known for her leading role in the made-for-TV movie Samurai Girl, she has appeared in episodes of Veronica Mars, ER, CSI: NY, Greek and Days of our Lives. Her movie roles include I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry, Dragonball Evolution and Sorority Row. She also appeared in the made-for-TV movie Princess Protection Program. She has several projects coming up, including Burning Palms, Grown Ups and Sucker Punch.
Torrey DeVitto – Torrey’s first big break was in the short-lived ABC Family Channel series Beautiful People, but prior to that she had guest roles in episodes of Dawson’s Creek, Scrubs, Jack & Bobby and The King of Queens. Most recently she has appeared in CSI: Miami and Castle as well as a recurring role on One Tree Hill. Torrey will be seen in the pilot episode of the new ABC Family Channel series Pretty Little Liars.
Matt Cohen – Matt’s first appearance on television was in an episode of The O.C. followed by a guest role in Medium. He then appeared in the series South of Nowhere and the online series Rockville CA created by Josh Schwartz. He is probably best known to fans of Supernatural, as the young John Winchester, father of Dean and Sam. He will also be seen in the horror flick Chain Letter with Nikki Reed, Keith David, Bai Ling and Brad Dourif.
Jason Dohring – Best known for his role in the fan- and critic-acclaimed series Veronica Mars and his role in the short-lived series Moonlight, Jason appeared in guest roles in Baywatch, Picket Fences, Roswell, JAG, Boston Public, Judging Amy and Cold Case. He appeared in the movie Deep Impact and the indie movie Struck. He also appeared in the most-talked about pilot of 2009 that was not picked up by any network – Body Politic. Most recently he has been seen in episodes of Party Down and CSI.
Enver Gjokaj – While he is best known for his role in the FOX series Dollhouse, Enver has also appeared in episodes of The Unit, Law & Order: Criminal Intent and the short-lived series The Book of Daniel. He also appeared in the made-for-TV movie Taking Chance and had small roles in the box office films The Express and Eagle Eye. He will soon be seen in the film Stone alongside Milla Jovovich, Robert De Niro and Edward Norton; and he can be seen in the “Funny or Die” online spoof series Previously on Point Dume.
