Late Friday, NBC picked up the back 9 episodes of Kath & Kim, assuring us of a full season of the mother-daughter comedy.

“Kath & Kim is a show we love and believe in,” NBC’s exec vp Teri Weinberg said. “We have incredible confidence in the creative auspices of this show and we believe it’s a perfect fit with our Thursday-night comedies.”

While it’s not burning up the ratings charts, it is holding on to the 18-49 viewers from its lead-out, My Name is Earl, and this last episode had an uptick in viewers – 5.5 million – leading NBC to feel optimistic about it’s growth potential.
